Ok, after watching all of the Dallas Cowboys this season IN FULL (9 total - all 4 preseason, but much more importantly, the 5 regualr season games), there are some things that I'd like to mention in certian things I see:

GOOD
====
- Our Offensive as a whole: The points we score. We never could imagine putting up these many points with ANY of our previous 7 years of offensive teams (28, 34, 33). But look at our 2 losses this season, we scored only 13 points in both games, but lost to only a total of 7 points (1, 6) and had excellent chances to win BOTH games (a gift to the Skins on MNF and 3 chances to take a lead late against the Raiders from their 4-yard line).

Looking at our wins, San Diego is a TOP team in the NFL, but against us they didn't have Gates. Ok, valid point, but we still beat a very good team and we even broke down a couple of important times, especially on defense (2 blown coverages for TDs and a 4th and long on SD's final drive). We seemed to ALWAYS be in the San Fran game because of our offense, even though we were down by 15 throghout. If our defense had woken up a little earlier the score might have been 34-17. The Cowboys basically played horribly, again especially on defense, against a below average team.

The Phily game was special in that we beat them by so many points and really controlled the game from start to finish. Of course, they are also the eaGALS, so that makes it ever better :) Our Offense showed what it can REALLY do when it is clicking on ALL cylinders. Our defense played MUCH better in the TACKLING department, but overall I still think we lacked a pass rush (we sacked McNabb at least 2 times on coverage sacks). I also much say that it seemed like McNabb was EXTREAMLY OFF on his passes, so this most def was NOT as good as previous Phily teams, at least in THIS game.

Players: Drew Bledsoe: Good leader, VERY accurate / Terry Glenn: Stepping up as the Cowboy's long range guy and finally playing like it / Keyshawn Johnson: Making the important catches, moving the chains, primary reciever / O-Line: They are giving Bledsoe GREAT pass protection.

IMPROVED
========
- Offensive Aggresivness: At least in the last game against Phily we came out firing and didn't stop the entire game... we never lost that KILLER INSTINCT that a team NEEDS to have to win OFTEN.

- More confidence in Cortez: Although I still have a lot of worries with Cortez, I think that he has been improving and a bit more reliable. Also, his kickoffs have been getting some touchbacks, which is finally nice to see. Cortez MUST make the EASY 45-yard and under FGs on a consistant basis in order to really solidify the fans and Parcells confidence.

- Tackling: Especially in the game against the eaGALS, our defense FINALLY wrapped up when tackling. Hopefully this will be something that the Cowboys can keep up and do the ENTIRE season, in EVERY game.

- Players: Jason Witten: Getting more catches and balls thrown his way, more involved in the passing game, solid contributer / Demarcus Ware: 2 Sacks this season and seems to be improving in every game / Bradie James: I must say that he really played a very good game against Phily / Roy Williams: After the Washington debacle, he has been playing a little less aggresive, although he almost gave up a big gain or TD to Westbrook right down the center of the field.

BAD
===
- Pass Rush: We still don't have a consistant pass rush.

- Rush Defense: Looking good, but sometimes (like against the Raiders) we falter a bit.

- Run Blocking: With the O-Line that we have (3 Pro Bowlers), the Cowboys MUST be able to run the ball better... we MUST, and I don't think it is Julius Jones' fault.

- Fumbles: Ok, this is fundamental. The biggest problems that worry me are Patrick Crayton's punt and kickoff returns. He holds the ball away from his body like a piece of bread. Every time he runs with the ball I am constantly thinking that if someone hits him right, he WILL fumble - NOT a good feeling. Same thing with rookie RB Thompson. He is fumble prone and that worries me on almost every play he runs with the ball.

That is it for now guys... any comments???

Good comments...A couple of things...Ware has 3 sacks and I think our running game could improve with better play calling that fit the strengths of our runners...and a true blocking FB.

I think our pass rush has been solid.

We are 4th in the NFL in sacks with 16. Indy leads with 20.

When you consider that we have played Philly and San Diego, two teams that don't give up a lot of sacks, you have to be impressed. IMO

Yeah, I know Roy Williams didn't have him in that coverage, but then it was a bad play call AND Pile's fault for not covering him better on the inside... if Westbrook had caught that, he would have been gone... Could've changed the course of the game.

I hope that when we play teams that give up more sacks, our pass rush SHOULD be dominant... but that is where I see the inconsistancy. The Cowboys pass rush MUST be proven to me, before I believe it... gotta see it.

GO COWBOYS!!!
