Dallas drafted 8 players in 2006 and after 3 years we should be able to reasonably grade our draft.

Overall Grade would be an F.

Performing -- Jason Hatcher and Anthony Fasano (for Miami).

FAILING -- Pat McQuistan, Patrick Watkins, and Bobby Carpenter.

TOTAL FAILURE -- Skyler Green, E.J. Whitley, Montavious Stanley.

Looks like an old Jerry Jones draft from the mid to late 90's.

Yeah, but you'd expect better from a guy like Bill Parcells.

But he also gave us some cornerstone players like Barber, Romo, Ware, and Ratliff.

Wow. I agree, so far that's and "F" or "D" at the very best.

He wanted Ware less than those that talked him into it. He did not draft Romo. etc, etc.

Yhea, disappointing draft to be sure.

That's why when JJ wants to hit on 80% of his picks this year, it can happen (like it did perhaps last year).

But if you take the average of the last few drafts, hitting 80% for any club is phenominal over more than a couple of years of draft history.

I thought it would be interesting to look back as most experts say it takes 3 years to know how you did.... Our success seems at times random or maybe our talent scouts are only good at recognizing talent at certain positions...and not every year. We seem unable to select good OL or Safeties.

I hope Jerry is making the proper personnel and process changes to improve and not just hoping for better luck.

I would be surprised if Dallas is hitting 40% over the past 12 years....this is probably generous. 80% is a nice goal, but we have not performed anywhere near that mark.

We all should have known it was a bad draft from day one but noone could have forseen Carpenter being as bad as he has been. If he was a halfway decent player, that draft wouldn't seem so bad. I think it was a bad draft in general for alot of teams but Fasano and Hatcher were reaches, McQuistan and Whitley were nobodies, Watkins seemed like a great value pick but there was a reason he dropped and we see it personally every year, Green and Stanley seemed like a decent picks but plain sucked from day one.

In hindsight you can look at every teams draft history in the past 10 years and see duds. The draft is never something that is guaranteed its a crap shoot.

Sad when your kicker is the only standout.

Actually, that's not bad, IMO.

I think anytime you have 4-5 guys of your draft class playing significant minutes for you, your scouts are doing their job.

Personally, I feel if you can hit on about 50-60% of your picks, you're doing very well.

Knee problems forced Berry-O to retire.

for me I see no star with the exception of a kicker and a back up linebacker and the rest are all bottom of the roster players and I think Anderson is a well below average fullbACK
