my question is why is wade phillips not on the 5 nominees ??

and also why is a coach that got fined for cheating a nominee ? *

Head coaches Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots, Jack Del Rio of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Joe Gibbs of the Washington Commanders, Mike McCarthy of the Green Bay Packers and Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers are the nominees for the 2007 Motorola NFL Coach of the Year award.
Fans can vote on NFL.com for the head coach whose game planning played the greatest role in his team’s success this season. Voting will take place from 9 a.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 7 through 6 p.m. EST on Monday, Jan. 21 to determine the 2007 Motorola NFL Coach of the Year. The winner will be announced at a press conference in Arizona during the week leading up to Super Bowl XLII.

Bilacheat will win it because that's just the way it is this year.

It's mandatory that the pats get everything even if they don't deserve it.

Patriots are 16-0. It should come as no surprise that BB is COY.

Brady just had the best season a QB has ever had. Kind of deserves MVP, if you ask me....

Eh...just like a player caught with 'roids shouldn't be given consideration, a coach caught cheating shouldn't be given consideration.

16-0 Coach might deserve to be coach of year.

I do agree Wade Phillips should be a top 5 candidate tho.

If you are caught cheating and the league thinks it's so egregious that it not only penalizes you a first round pick but also fines you a half a million dollars, the you do not deserve consideration.

Great message the league is sending.

Belicheck...perception is...he built that team.

Gibbs...perception is...he built that team.

Del Rio...perception is...he built that team.

Crennel...perception is...he built that team.

McCarthy...perception is...he built that team.

The only one you can't say is Tomlin.

so how many coaches that got into teams that had already a "built" team and took them to the playoffs with a 13-3 record and homefield advantage ?
i just think is ridiculous to have Gibbs there and not Wade.

What, Nors, is your * key broken?

Joe Gibbs? Seriously? For getting over the 500-hump and going one and done while embarrassing himself with his game management using the emotional boost he got when his overrated star defensive player was killed?

See, and I think it's ridiculous to pigeonhole qualifications to that fine a detail.

You can think it is ridiculous all you want, but it has been happening for decades. The exceptions are when a Sean Payton comes in and takes a team from 3-13 to the playoffs. We were already a playoff team last year. If we had been 6-10 or worse and Wade did this, the only other coach in the covnersation would be Belicheck and that's because of the undefeated regular season.

It's a fact of life. let it hurt your feelings or get used to it, because it isn't likely to change.
