Next offseason will be a fireworks show. I think we let Spears and Bowen go and splurge on some big FA's. No way Jerry sits still 2 years in a row. Expect a Yankee type offseason for the boys next year.

no, we replace depth with draft picks

do like we did this year, get a whole bunch of team/role players

give all the money to our big free agents to keep the core of the team intact

Meh. Let's splurge a little!!. I'm down to draft a LT though next year in the first round. Get a speedy little reciever and sign Wilfork. Championship.

PS..correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't TO's 7 mil come off the book next year? hmmm...

It's hard to imagine Jerry Jones not being ready to make another big free agent splash, but I hope he's learned it isn't the answer.

Winning the off-season Super Bowl doesn't count for anything when the actual season starts.

We've already got most of the pieces we need, dramatics are not needed.

Focus on keeping as much of the core together as possible while using the draft to replenish the roster.

If you are going to spend Albert Haynesworth type money for a FA D player (and make no mistake Wilfork will be asking for that kind of money), you might as well spend it on a position that is not already manned by a pro bowler (and making very little $ to boot).

If Jerry is going to spend that kind of money, then he would be better off getting Julius Peppers to rush from the opposite side of DWare.

LOL at WIlfork getting Haynesworth money. He'll be lucky to get 50 mil. Spencer will be a probowler next year so Peppers would be dumb. Signing Wilfork is killing 2 birds with one stone. Tell Spears goodbye and move Rat over to DE. Bradie James and Brooking/WIlliams will love having big Wilfork taking on blockers. Ratliff..ehhh not so much. He can still rush up the middle on passing downs so hopefully he won't whine too much.

Don't see why he would expect Hayensworth numbers, Wilfork has 7.5 sacks over his five year career. Hayensworth had 8.5 last year alone. Now if Hayensworth got that contract after his first 5 years, then I would agree, but his 14 sacks the last 2 seasons is what got him paid. And Wilfork won't get close to that.

Other than LT, what position will we need to make any type of a splash?

MLB? Safety maybe?

You can't have big time free agents at every position, even if there isn't a cap. This team is built to compete NOW. Not with more pieces next year. And if that's all we lose in the offseason, and the team is successful this year, there is no reason to make a splash.

you would have to ask AdamJT about that

All of Terrell Owens' bonus money hit this year's cap because it is currently the final capped season under the current CBA.

Any move that any team has made or will make this season will result in an immediate cap acceleration of bonus money due to 2010 being the final league year in the CBA with no salary cap.

No dead money will carry over for anything done this season if a new CBA is agreed upon following it.

Only players released after a new CBA with a salary cap came into effect would bring up dead money on the following season.

50M is Canty money, and Canty is a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. Wilfork is a true 3-4 NT. Those do not grow on trees, especially w/all the teams that have moved to the 3-4, his services will be in high demand. After Haynesworth and Ngata, name a better traditional NT, especially under 30? He may not get the amount that Haynesworth got, but he will be using that as his barometer. The New England media is already saying the same.

Spencer pro bowl bound next season? Talk about "ehhh not so much". If you are going to spend big dollars in the offseason on D, then put it into a player that will take your unit to another, as in ELITE, level. Peppers has shown he can be elite WITHOUT someone like DWare playing opposite him, imagine the carnage that ensues w/them playing together (i.e. 2008 pro bowl).

Not Doomsday III, more like Doomsday 3-D.

You talk like I want us to be the Yankees of the NFL or something. We will be fine at S with Sensy and hopefully Jason Williams and Hodge can emerge as the starting MLB next year.I'm only calling for names who will help us. IMO the two weakest positions on out team is NT and LT. We need a true NT that can take on blocks. Ratliff is cute n all but there were plenty of times the RB went right up the gut. We need a young LT for the next 10 years. You might say that "well we have a probowler at NT already" Your correct, but we will never be an elite 3-4 defense without a big bubba inside. Look at all the 3-4 legit defenses. Common denominator. A huge anchor. Ratliff is a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT.

Not even Ware?

Obviously you guys haven't learned Abe's style yet. While he is often crafty and very astute in his replies, he also gives of "bit" of sarcasm and humor. He clearly he is in line with the need to sign Ware.

Read up boys.

OR WE could draft NT Terrance Cody 6'5" #365

NT
Boo Robinson, Wake Forest
Height: 6-2. Weight: 326.

Ekom Udofia, Stanford
Height: 6-2. Weight: 311.

and depends on our how our WR's play we could be looking to draft one

WR David Gettis, Baylor An amazing offensive weapon with great size (6' 4" 210 lbs). Still raw, but blazing fast. Ran a 21.52 in the 200 meters.

or Dez Bryant*, Oklahoma State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 210.

MLB
ILB Rolando McLain, Alabama (JR) McLain (6' 4" 254 lbs) is hard to run against and is a major force on the inside for the Crimson Tide

LB Joe Pawelek, Baylor Pawelek (6' 3" 240 lbs) was a tackling machine in 2008 when he led the nation in tackles.

DE
DE George Selvie, South Florida

and I really don't see a need at safety depends on Sensabaugh and the rest of the safties

we need D line probably but the number one thing in my book is LT

Pats will slap the Franchise tag on Wilfork... Dey not stoopid...

We will not let Spears, Hatcher, and Bowen all walk. Replacing 1 3-4 DE is tough enough, much less trying to replace 3 of them in the same off-season. We'll probably draft one and maybe sign a FA, but I think we'll keep at least one of these three and maybe 2 of them.

SLATEmosphere;2821134 said:
No they won't. They already have his replacement.

I hope to God that they believe that, not to mention let Wilfork go for that very reason. Anything to weaken the Pats.
