2012 Masters Tournament

IMHO he got darn lucky to come in at 3 over; it really could have been far worse.

No doubt about it. Two bad shots on 13, one in the hazard, one barely missing, and he makes par. And that's just one hole.

I have to say, I've never seen him hit the ball that poorly. He may have, but I haven't seen it.

And that was with absolutely perfect conditions, unlike the guys had earlier in the day. Amazing. (In a good way.)

This years tournament has been fantastic to watch. Phil Mickelson is on a tear and only one behind the leader. It is exciting to see so many people in competition for the top spot. I can't wait until tomorrow, should be an interesting round.

oh yes. :D

Tiger has become an enigma.

He's capable of winning like we saw a couple weeks ago.

And then there's the car wreck he was this weekend.

Tiger's fans expect him to be what he was a decade ago... And I don't think he's that player anymore. He's simply one of many who can win any particular weekend, and will not be the "automatic" he use to be.

I think the field has just gotten a lot better.

I don't know how you can say that when most of the field fell away today. Ooooosthuizen almost blew it and fell apart. Only my boy Bubba was strong throughout.

No question.

Hey, it's almost been 20 years since Tiger entered the scene and no doubt his success has helped create the amount of quality competition there is on the tour now.

Great win for Bubba.

Just maybe a new golf star.

Lot to love about that guy Bubba. He's doing it his way (no lessons, etc.), and making shots no other seems capable of. And he wears his heart on his sleeve. How much more loveable can you be? Congratulations to Bubba Watson!

What strikes me about Bubba is that in a lot of ways he's the anti-Tiger.

Will he become consistent enough to become the "face" of golf in the U.S. replacing Tiger & Phil?

We'll see.

I doubt we will ever see a run like what Tiger had, or even one that makes a single guy be the "face" of golf. This makes what? 14 different winners of the last 14 majors? (None of whom were named "Tiger").

Congrats to Bubba Watson. He looks to be a fun character and a great addition to the list of Masters winners.

I don't know about you, but I kept seeing this guy playing out there.

Bubba Watson has a lot of golf ahead of him and over the last 2 years has become a bigger factor on the tour. Great guy and a great player.

Great point.

I think it comes down to the fact that either if you're for or against Tiger, that the landscape has definitely changed. He's not going to win seemingly every-other week, and automatically be a top-5 finisher at the majors.

I would agree but I do think Tiger will work his way back to the top 5 in the world if not higher and I think he will win majors and likely break Jack record of major wins.

Tiger has had his ups and downs but he is also a fierce competitor who has abilities than many don't have. I don't think he will ever have the season he did in 2000 but then very few have even come close to what Tiger did in 2000.

That wouldn't shock me in the least.

Hard to say (of course) what his physical condition and age will have on all this.

Age wise Tiger is not that old, he has just been around for a while and his success was out of this world so now anything less than what he has done before gets people talking about his ability. Now injuries clearly have had an impact and if they continue will impact the remainder of his career but that is also why Tiger made changes with his swing as to not put as much pressure on his left knee. At Bay Hill he showed he is capable of playing outstanding and I think with Tiger competitive drive he will continue to work to be the best player he can and to achieve his lifelong goals.
