The consensus around this 2016 NFL Draft class is that either Vernon Hargreaves III or Mackensie Alexander, both about 5-foot-10, is the top cornerback. Some may believe Jalen Ramsey is the top cornerback, but I think his best fit at the next level will be at safety. However, I believe there is a cornerback out of Houston that reigns supreme in this position group for the 2016 NFL Draft: William Jackson III. Listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Jackson has the length that NFL teams covet in cornerbacks today, but is also fluid in man coverage and able to close on the hip pocket of a receiver with remarkable quickness. The initial reports of Jackson were late Day 2 by multiple NFL Draft analysts, but when I broke down the tape, I saw a much better player than that. In fact, I think he is the best cornerback in the 2016 NFL Draft, and he will only rise as he gets more exposure.
