Washington Commanders safety Su'a Cravens told some within the organization this weekend that he is planning to retire, but a meeting with the team's coaches and executives has changed his mind for now, according to league sources."

I really think this team is in for a long year. I don't think Cravens was that good or anything, but you have a QB who has one foot out of the door, new WRs and o-line that can not run block, and a pretty shaky defense. I can easily see a collapse.

Didn't Washington have a real GM who made this pick? How does a real GM waste a 2nd round draft pick? Imagine if Jerry would have chosen Cravens. He would have been ridiculed.

Sometimes it is hard to measure desire. I think the position switch really screwed with him.

I think Su'a is done in the NFL. There is speculation that he has some mental issues going on. I wish the kid the best, and if football is detriment to his mental health then I believe retirement is the best choice for him. The team will be fine without him. They really shored up the safety position this offseason. Deshazor Everett has impressed, and rookie Nicholson looks like he may be the starter once he gets up to speed after his injury.

Cravens was always just an extremely talented project, that McCloughan took a shot on. I would've preferred he drafted Sean Davis instead, and not wasted a second round pick on a headcase.

I thought we was concussed last year and suffered vision problems because of that. Any elaboration on what his mental issues are?

There isn't much to say at this point. I heard some speculate that he could've become bi-polar, or some other mental illness. Other people just think he's a pampered diva who doesn't want to put the work in to be successful in this league. He won't elaborate on why he wants/wanted to retire.

There is a video that has been circulating from TC where MLB Compton questioned his desire and passion for the game, and his responses weren't very good either.

Somebody needs to bring this kid into line. We are not ******* around and we gave you millions. We gave you an opportunity. Time to instill CODE OF THE WARRIOR. Honor, Loyalty, Sacrifice.

Have Art Monk, Darrell Green, SOMEBODY talk to him. You would think Doug Williams could get through to this guy.

With regard to Cousins selfish, punk ***. He should not have been put on the 53 man roster. HE IS NOT A CORE Commander.

If you are thinking about retirement...you are already retired. Didn't Parcells say something to that effect?
