Spread the word, near and far. This is the single greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL. Say it, breath it, live it. Scream it for all to hear.

We need quarterbacks drafted by the bushels. The more, the better. Without a first-round pick (there are generally about 18-20 in a draft), the Cowboys sit in no-man's land at the mercy of the whims and moods of the rest of the league. Such is what 13-3 brings.

The truth is, I don't think there's a single QB of note in this draft. But too many teams are in dire need of one, and the Dak Prescott Effect is causing full panic throughout. More so than most years. GMs and personnel departments are still trying to explain that one. Christian Hackenberg, really?

So we need desperately to hear Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes, Kizer, and Webb go early. Them, as well as all the running backs you can muster.

Push 'em down, push 'em down, waaaaaaay down. Bring those juicy defensive players our way. Don't be shy, go get that "next Dak" to town, and reap those benefits. You can do it !

SUCKER!

You know, Sebastian Janikowski is still kicking for the Raiders, 18 years after being a first-round pick. He's scored the 10th-most points in NFL history! What a fantastic pick he was: other teams should seriously consider grabbing a kicker with their first pick. I hear this is a really deep kicking class too, so don't wait!

 Funny stuff, Erod! :)

One thing -- yes, there's generally not 32 first round grades, but that doesn't mean we won't have a first round grade on a player that is available when we hit the clock, as every club grades players differently, as we saw with Fred.

But to lean on the spirit of your thread... please, NFL franchises, draft 4 QBs and 4 RBs before we pick! :flagwave:

Fwiw, as crappy as this year's class is at QB, the 2018 group is being considered by some to be the best group (pre-draft) since 1983.

here's to hoping all those QB needy teams take the bait this year anyway.

Pretty sure you can count on Trubisky and Mahomes going in the 1st. After that, it's a bonus.

I think Watsons arm strength (48mph) pushes him out of the first. Lots of talk about Kizer falling to the second. Trubisky and Mahomes seem to be locks at this point. Teams have fallen in love with Mahomes intangibles and raw talent. Webb is a real darkhorse.

Unfortunately we may only see two QB's go in the first. I hope Im wrong about Watson, and there are reports of teams really liking him. But 48mph is well below the arm strength threshold

Id consider Trubisky and Mahomes if I was QB needy. Both have very high football character and physical talent. But I wouldn't take either inside the top 10. 10 to 15 I would be OK.

If I was a QB needy team inside the top 10, I trade down with the aim of picking up a 2018 first and build other portions of my team to give the QB I want to draft in 2018 a stronger foundation. With that extra 2018, I have some ammo to manuver in the draft to get my guy if he isnt within reach

The next Brady will be available at 28 and the Browns will give a kings ransom to make the move. They get #28, we get their natural second and 4th this year, and next years 1st. That 5th year option is worth it for a hall of fame QB!

Mahomes shot up the draft boards fast and Kizer sunk like a stone after Brian Kelly sandbagged him. It's amazing how two weeks ago, Kizer was arguably the top QB in the draft and now you have some people putting Mahomes, Peterman and Webb ahead of him. You have to wonder how much of the hype was brought on by the media and then once media members started talking to scouts, they learned that teams were not high on him at all and if the media kept hyping him, they'd look like Mel Kiper did with Jimmy Clausen.

I could see the same thing that happened to Kizer happen to Josh Rosen next year. Rumors of a bad attitude, rich, entitled kid, ect, and then have a strong armed gunslinger like Mason Rudolph shoot up the boards.

Me too.

The team taking them would just need to have patience.

I think we're fine either way.. If QBs drop I'm hoping that we're trying our best to move out of the pick.

Mahomes lands in a better situation most likely. He will likely be between 10 and 15 with Buffalo and Arizona showing interest. Both would be good spots for him. Buffalo is a run heavy offense that will start Taylor next year even if they draft a QB. Also have a very good OL and some talent at WR. Arizona has Palmer coming back so he will be able to sit behind him.

Trubisky I see a team reaching for in the top 10 and playing him immediately. Chicago would be a good place for him as they have a very good OL

It's a year early, but I have Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Mason Randolph, Luke Faulk, and Lamar Jackson all possibly ahead of Rosen.
Maybe he'll grow on me though. :muttley:

In any case, that QB class is loaded

I'm a UNC grad, but I really hope whoever takes Trubisky lets him sit and learn a year.
I'd trade down in a heartbeat if I had takers in those top 2-10 slots if the price was right.

Thats where Chicago is a good spot for him. They have Glennon on a very lowball starting QB deal. A decent season and he is a tradebmable commodity. With Long, Whitehair and Sitton they are probably just behind us as far as talent on the interior OL

I was just thinking about this last week. Janikowski was a first round pick, and I can remember it like it was yesterday. Al Davis was vilified over this selection. It as as if he had used his pick on a paraplegic.

Looking back on the pick there is no doubt that he got good value out of the pick. I know some would argue Janikowski could have been drafted by the Raiders at a later time. Many also argued the same thing about Fred Beard.

How many busts are there in the average first round? Close to half of first rounders end up being busts long term. That likely means that even though teams were making fun of him. (Most likely all 31 other teams) that about half of the teams would gladly swap Janikowski for the player they selected in a redraft.

So when the grades come out of this draft, keep in mind that whether the grades say we think we hit it out of the park, or whiffed it will take the benefit of hindsight to know for sure.

Rosen is a lot of hype, had a decent freshman year and is living off his high school hype. That high school hype might carry him to beign a first round QB though.

I'm always a little leery about #1 QB high school recruits. Just kind of a sense of "Nothing is my fault. I'm the best because everyone says I am." I just don't see them as leaders of men. Jimmy Clausen, Jeff George, Gunnar Kiel, Mitch Mustain, Matt Barkley, ect... Give me a QB who has faced some adversity and hasn't been coddled since 8th grade.

got news for you. All athletes that look like they can make it big get coddled from 8th grade on.

A lot of these guys were #1 high school simply because they grew/matured earlier than other kids.

If Dak wasn't a surprise last year we'd probably be looking to take one of these QB's.
