Seems like a lot to ask, even more to expect it or depend on it.

Get more talent, stop making excuses. This team, or at least the offense, is ready to contend for titles right now.

Fix the defense with every resource you have. Stop trying to be clever or cute, and just go get more talent. Whatever you have to do.

T New was a good pick, sadly he wasnt retained. Ware was good, sadly for him to win he had to go elsewhere. Spencer was bad, Jenkins many didnt like, Mo figured it out to late. Shall we continue with the other CB picks, there are a lot many fans dont want to remember. So again, how many times do we have to keep picking CBs when we need more QB killers?

You said they were chosen in place of pass rushers. Two were not.

Ideology is good for rules of thumb but best decision making is made with specifics and judged individually.

I watched some games on youtube and Carroll was getting abused by Dez....never turning his head around.

Deion Sanders and Aneas Williams, and some others were abused and beaten by Michael Irvin on a consistent bases too.
Just saying some of the better guys get beat by even better guys....but not saying Carroll is any of those DB's, just saying don't go by one very good WR and what he does or does not do against one particular player.
Irvin beat Darrell Green also.

I think this happened organically because of the cap, not by some epiphany that maybe, just maybe, with the exception of a year or two under Phillips, defense has held the team back. They already squandered Romo's career.
