I'm sorry but Gallup is not a 20 million dollar receiver and Gregory is not a 20 million dollar receiver. Dak burned us. No overspending even for our own over priced players.

I would be 100% FINE with being frugal and building through the draft only.....

If they didn't stupidly overpay in trying to justify their own draft picks and/or those Jerry wants to be friends with.

You nailed it, partner. The Jones boys have their buddies on the team and overpay to keep them around. The Cowboys' buddy system has got to end.

Transition tag Schultz? I believe the number won’t be as high and if we go that route

Maybe, but If you want to retain Schultz the franchise tag is the way to go. They could always make it nonexclusive. The savings on a transition tag is around 1.5 million and projections place his contract above the franchise tag amount so I don't think it would deter any team from signing him to a 12 to 14 million a year contract.

I am amazed the players still accept the franchise tag as a thing. If you get tagged you are basically getting screwed and everyone knows it. So of course we don't even use it. Dak should have 100% been tagged twice in a row.

I would like to keep players like Gregory and Gallup, but a line has to be drawn on value same as they do with other teams' FA.

That doesn't seem to apply here.

We have the reverse of a home town discount.

I would let Gregory go. He probably won’t play any better then he has for the Cowboys then he already has. I am interested to see what he would get on the open market.

Gregory is only one of interest worthy of these tags due to how vested Jethro is in his risk and how’s he’s stood by him thru all of the suspensions. He’s one of those guys our owners likes to prove he was right about .

Personally with D Law injury history I’d rather keep Gregory if we have a choice.

Armstrong was serviceable with Gregory in there and Parsons rushing passer as well.
