Brady Quinn is definitely looking like the real deal. When he was a freshman I could tell had the goods, the team was not doing well. But he did not start the Season as the Starter that year it was Arnaz Battle, but Battle got hurt or was so ineffective (I cannot remember the specifics, had to be the latter, because I was always saying that Battle needed to be moved to WR) but when Quinn got to play, he showed his stuff and Ty Willingham moved him to starter, I think it was against the Boilermakers his first start, I could be wrong about that though.
The Kid can play, and having Weiss is only making him better, he may win the Heisman, he is moving into the race.
It was Carlisle Holiday that Quinn replaced, not Battle. Battle was already in the pro's when Brady started at ND.
Anyways, I'm an ND fan and love Brady. I've mentioned in other threads that I'd love for us to draft him. He's not going to be leaving ND after this year though. I'm sure he knows he'd be stupid to pass up an extra year of Charlie Weis' tutoledge.
His stats might suffer though. He'll be losing Maurice Stovall, Rhema McKnight (got hurt this year against MSU anyway), Anthony Fasano, Rashon Powers-Neal, Matt Shelton, and 6 Olineman, 4 of which are starters. Basically all that's left of this year's starters are Brady, Walker, and Samardzija. I think Chase Anastacio may be able to step up as a decent WR, and I like what I see out of freshman WR David Grimes.
BTW, whoever said we should take a look at Samrdzija, he's a baseball player as well
(atleast he's not a QB)
Maurice Stovall.... Not sure what to say, he's an nfl Stud/scrub. You can't knock his talent, and size... but u have to wonder if he'll have character issues, and his ethic.
I remmeber when ND recruited Stovall and McKnight they were both very highly touted and neither had really done much their entire careers at ND. Doesn't help that they had Carlisle Holiday passing to them for a year and a half, and then a young Brady for a year and half, but... McKnight showed a little bit last year, not much. Anyway, I like what I see out of Stovall this year. He's finally starting to show what the hype was about. He's got the measurables, and I think Weis has played an integral part in righting the work ethic, which is why we're seeing the improvement.
