Marinelli wasn't DC then Kiffin was. Also the GM and BP wasn't Jerry and Stephen in Tampa who has said the same thing the last 2 years. Also that was a different time. Today nfl is a passer league. To have a top defense you need top DEs pass rushers. We are terrible at getting sacks. Look at the amount of sacks our DEs have. They value pass rushers alot more than run stoppers.

I say signing any 2 out of sheard,hardy or mcphee instantly gives us 2 starting bookends that will generate pressure from the edge better than any1 at any position in this draft from day1.If we get 2 of them and hey come in a generate sy 15-20 sacks between them then it will also take the spotlight of dlaw and allow him an additional year or 2 to adapt and deveelope.
Then when you add a monster 1 tech like brown you instantly have a top 10 dline in the league with lawrence,brent,mincey and the likes of coleman brent etc etc as rotational guys

I'm not going to give over rated players to much money. Hardy might be in jail next year. What has mcphee of sheard done the last few years?

If not, I think we have to franchise Murray which will eat some of that cash

sorry i have to vote hell no on AP unless we get a very cap and team friendly deal no and edge rusher like hardy would be sweet if and when he can get on the field just not the RKG probably not happening and at draft time i hope we get a chance at 2 players PJ williams and Kurtis Drummomd to help our secondary not sure what the D-line will be just do not see those picks early

i think peterson is a pipe dream of jerrys.id prefer to see them target the rb from minnesota college-david cobb or go after mark ingram in free agency.
Both are real physical runners and the type of player that can make the kind of runs that lift a team when it needs it the most

The idea with Sheard or McPhee is that they are likely to be good value signings. Mincey has been a few solid addition this year and I think Sheard and McPhee might be a little better than Mincey.

Obviously, Hardy would not be an option if he is convicted in his 2nd and upcoming trial. IMO, he is clearly the best DE in free agency. I would be concerned about giving him a big contract with his off-field issues, but if he wins his trial and can be obtained for a reasonable contract or a big 1-year prove it salary, then that would be terrific, IMO.
