I really don't care what everyone say's about now that T.O. is gone and Roy Williams is the #1 guy this opens the door for Miles Austin, Sam Hurd and Crayton to compete for the #2 spot. I really don't think that any one of those three will strike any fear whatsoever in the opposing Defensive Coordinators game planning. We are sitting ourselves up for a huge letdown if Roy Williams turns out not being a #1. When your trying to move forward as the Boyz are trying to do you have to prepare for the worst. You go into the season thinking Roy Williams is #1 and hoping that out of Austin, Hurd and Crayton, one of them is a #2 but in my opinion due to past nagging injuries with Austin and Hurd and the fact Crayton is very inconsistent and shows more interest in running his mouth a top Priority is landing someone in Free Agency that you feel sure would be a solid #2 with the potential to be a #1 if Roy Williams turns out being more of a #2. They need someone that is an established Route Runner and not a free lance runner like both Roy Williams and T.O. really have shown to be in the past. They need someone that has shown he could be a #1 if needed. I say prepare yourself by signing someone like Tory Holt when his release happens by mid-March. They just don't want to go into another season hoping that someone can feel a role and realize that they couldn't like Brad Johnson last year. If you don't prepare you'll be getting your Popcorn ready at home watching other Teams in the Playoffs. This is just my opinion !!!!

no it's not.

running a balanced offense with the playmakers we have is a top priority.

playing disciplined is even a higher priority.

stick to video games if you need pro-bowlers at every position.

We have plenty of other options after Roy. We still have Crayton, Austin, Hurd(if we keep him), Witten, Bennett and Felix.

If we work the running game like the Giants did, Roy Williams is fully capable of being our Plaxico Burress.

We'll be fine provided Jason Garrett chances his offensive strategy.

#2 receivers don't usually strike great fear in a defense, not even when they are effective...a defense can't double cover everyone.

The fact remains that if Austin starts making plays consistently, his big play ability will cause him to catch some double coverage at times that will allow RoyW to operate in single coverage.

We will look at a WR at some point in the Draft, but I assure you, it is not a Free Agent priority. Miles Austin is the #2 WR at this time. He is no longer a KR and Stanback has that role.

Felix was used as a KR last season. Is he being integrated more into the offense?

Absolutely he will be. I think he will do much of what Marshall Faulk did. He's dangerous in space. I think he might return some kicks still, but I won't be shocked if we draft a PR and KR to be back there with Stanback. My vote is Mike Thomas of Arizona.

Put ideas of Torry Holt out of your minds. Not going to happen.

Me thinks that with the release of Pacman, the trade of Anthony Henry and the possible transition of Scandrick to Safety, CB is the top priority. With the latter move being made, we are left with Newman, who has been an injury waiting to happen, Jenkins who has alot of room for improvement and Ball who doesn't really belong on the field for an extended period of time.

Jerry Jones was very adamant about the fact that T.O.'s release was not about the drama he brings in more about move forward with the current youth we currently have on this roster; though it would not be the first time he has contradicted himself. I would be all for the Torry Holt acquisition, however, I am completely against the idea of the Cowboys drafting high for receiver, because 1. I think if you subscribe to the "best player available" philosophy, chances our WR won't be it and 2. The Cowboys have more pressing needs on defense, where the chances are better the BPA will fill at least one position of need. I'm hoping for either CB or NT/DE. Keep in mind that the DL will likely be the first place they look, as there will be a premium on 3-4 ready rookies, with all the teams converting to the 3-4. As far as CB, Mike Parsons looks to be a great pick up in the 3rd.

I'd take Wallace. But one thing to remember about my "Zona homerism." It has limits. For instance let's talk about the Zona players I have hyped on this forum.

Nick Folk
Antoine Cason
Spencer Larsen
Mike Thomas

That's right there are only 4 counting Mike Thomas. How are the other 3 doing? Spencer Larsen even became a 2 way player for the Broncos.

By all means ask me about Mike Lucky who I actually knew quite well and who was one of my inside sources for a long time back in the DMN days. Ask me about QB Willie Tuitama who is in this year's Draft class. Ask me about the Arizona D-lineman (name escapes me right now) who was on the Practice Squad the last 2 years.

I am a Zone homer, but I am an honest one.

With the way Andre what is the snap count Gurode and False Start Flo like to end drives and destroy momentum, LT and C are bigger needs.

I have to say that I disagree that #2 WR is this team's biggest priority.

I think this team has made the decision to go with Roy Williams as their #1 and see what they have in Austin, Hurd, and Stanback.

I don't think they cut Owens and took a $9 million cap hit to turn around and pay the aging Torry Holt $6 million.

I think they intend to ask the young guys to step up. And if they fail to deliver, they'll step out in 2010 and the team will look to the draft or free agency for their #2.

But I definitely think they feel good enough about the guys they have now not to rush to pay for a free agent.

And if they do draft one, I think the plan would be to look in later rounds for a shifty punt returner type to add some wiggle to the straight-line thoroughbreds theyr have now.

Nobody said it's the biggest need but it's a need because you are depending on too many if's in the Receiver Corps:

1) If Roy is a #1
2) If Austin want get hurt and becomes a #2
3) If Hurd want get hurt and can be a #2 or #3
4) If Crayton can stay healthy and shut up and put up

The point I'm making is they need to cover their bases and don't get burned because it could be a long year with a Questioable passing attack. You can shout all day about we are going to run more but you can't run when the box is stacked :)

Priority is RUN BLOCKING and the OL.

Anyone with half a brain knows that we should be running the ball at least 50% of the time. Our run blocking has been horrible last few years....let's change that this year! In fact, it has to change this year or else we'll be sitting home yet again for the playoffs.
If we can run then our pass action would be better and WR would not be double covered all the time. Romo would have more time and hopefully won't be throwing to ED REED.

Why not? If Jerry wants him he can get him.
