Are there any good 3-4 coordinators out there that we might bring in, assuming zimmer leaves or is fired? (fingers crossed)

I hate saying this but isn't Al Groh (SP) a big 34 guy and also a close friend of BP? I know he's HC of UVA but if he's assured of the HC job here when BP leaves I think he'd take it.

NOW I'm not for Groh coming here as a matter of fact I would prefer him not I'm just throwing out a name and a possible way for it to happen...

The Jets DC - but he's getting HC looks. He was Pitts DC

Look at young coach DC under Groh....at UVA

Capers gets a look.

Just about any 3-4 DC would give us a better defense then Mike Zimmer. We brought in all kindsa talent in FA and the draft and still QBs get all day to throw when they face our defense. Zimmer could have a HOFer at every position on defense and QBs would still almost never get pressured by his defenses. We went to a 3-4 which is supposed to get more pressure on QBs. But still nothing. The same old jokes for blitzs and soft bend dont break defense. I think the big reason Ware did not win the DROY is cuz of Mike Zimmers kinda defense.

Bring in someone who knows how to blitz right and can make this a more attack defense.

I agree - its just time for Zimmer to move on and get in a an experienced 3-4 guy and let it rip. With Sap, crackle and pop replaced at LB - we are ready for full transition to 3-4.

Kudo's Parcells.

Now ****** draft long on Oline and fix that vat of mess.

How about Patriots LB coach Pepper Johnson? He played for Parcells with the Giants and it wouldn't be a lateral move for him either. This "could" happen if Zimmer goes to the Rams.

...is Capers. He's looking to restore the shine on his rep and he has valuable experience in the 3-4 and would have definitive opinons on what personnel is needed for the the different looks he wants to create.

Not being the HC could open his mind and free him to teach a young Cowboys defence. He could assist in finding the last few pieces of the defensive puzzle and has extensive experience allowing Bill the opportunity to focus on teh offensive side and getting that under control.

He makes the most sense if he is willing. That's a big "IF".

Jerry should really come to an understanding with Bill and vigorously pursue this guy.

I hope we bring in Capers. He hasn't worked with Parcells but he has a history with Coughlin so Parcells would know a lot about him.

The only problem is that both Tim Lewis (Giants DC) and Zimmer are both getting consideration for head coaching positions. So if Lewis goes somewhere then Capers will probably go to NY. Let's hope that Zimmer gets hired first.
