This seems unlikely as things sit now, but looking ahead am I the only one who can see the NFC BEast reclaiming said title. The Eagles look sure to get a playoff spot, even if it's just wild card spot. They would have to absolutely collapse the second half of the year to not get one (basically going 1-6 in their last 7). While I would like that to happen, it probably won't.
Our Cowboys are an up and coming team winning their last 3 including a demolishing of a very good Chiefs team, and if the season ended today we would have a playoff spot.
The seemingly unlikely team is the Commanders, but when you look at their schedule so far you can understand where I am coming from. Yes they are 4-4, but their 4 losses are to the Eagles twice, us once, and the previously 5-0 Chiefs once. Those are some pretty tough losses, in addition to that they have wins against the Seahawks, Raiders, and Rams, 3 often tough teams (even if you can't decide on the Raiders week to week). At .609 they have the hardest strength of schedule in the league, which is a rarity for a team with 4 wins. The rest of their schedule looks far more favorable and come playoff time the tiebreaker against the Seahawks/Rams would likely come in handy (one of those teams will finish in second, it won't be the Cards). They could earn another useful tiebreaker if they were to beat the Vikings this weekend.
So could the NFC BEast once again have 3 playoff teams. Would make for a crazy playoff season if it were to happen.
