For some reason I hate all 3 2nd round picks....if I have to choose it would probably be #1

Give me Caraun Reid over Kareem Martin in mock 2 and I'd take 2 in a heartbeat.

Round 7: Dri Archer (WR/RB, Kent State)
Round 7: Aaron Colvin (CB, Oklahoma)
--If you'd added a DE round 2 I could really roll with this one.
2 DL and one being a 7th rounder is really not enough.
WR round 2 is a no go for me.

Mock #2
Round 1: Calvin Pryor (FS, Lousville)
Round 2: Will Sutton (DT, Arizona State)
Round 3: Josh Huff (WR, Oregon)
Round 4: Kareem Martin (DE, North Carolina)
Round 5: James Wilder Jr (RB, Florida State)
Round 7: L'Damian Washington (WR, Missouri)
Round 7: Tyler Starr (OLB, South Dakota)
Round 7: Casey Pachall (QB, TCU)
--Love everything but the WR, again round 3 too high for a WR this year and the QB.
If you had an OG or 1T in round 3 this would be pretty sweet.
Not mad at the 7th round WR but the round 3 guy is a waste.
QB Dude was a full on pothead and not a RKG.
I'd have to take this one of the three.

Mock #3

Round 1: Marqise Lee (WR, USC)
Round 2: Bradley Roby (CB, Ohio State)
Round 3: Dominique Easley (DT, Florida)
Round 4: Caraun Reid (DT, Princeton)
Round 5: Jalen Saunders (WR, Oklahoma)
Round 7: Isaiah Crowell (RB, Alabama State)
Round 7: Trey Milliard (FB, Oklahoma)
Round 7: Jonathan Dowling (FS, Western Kentucky)
If I am not down for a Wr in round 1 you can guess how I feel about R1.
Another two WR draft which is just strange.
We will keep maybe 5 at most. We could use 1 talented guy if extreme value fell ot us but the WR depth chart is pretty set.

I respect all of your points but I think the Cowboys will definitely go with a WR at some point in the first 4 rounds.. Most likely they will go into next season with Dez, Williams, Beasley, Harris, and Tim Benford... Doesn't look terrible but if Dez were to go out and the Cowboys relying on the pass the way they do they would be done for. I think they are certainly looking for a WR and wouldn't be surprised if they signed a guy like Emmanuel Sanders in FA but if not I think they have to draft one at some point.. They want Harris to focus on ST and some spot duty at WR so really they only have 3 guys who have caught a pass going into next year and my guess is that if they liked Benford enough they wouldn't have let him chill on PS for 2 years with the possibility to get snatched.

I would like Mock #1 if you grab another DL in round 2 (no WR)....I like Mock 2 if you grab a DL or LB in round 3

I am not liking the WR thought process (Saw your post above)...I would draft a guy (WR) early just to put him in a rotation, especially if we have so many other needs...and. other than a 5th rounder on OL, it looks curious to me that there are no OL anywhere

as far as WR is concerned, I would hope that they use Escobar more in the passing game - first to develop him and second to get him ready to eventually take over when Witten finally slows down...having a 2-TE passing game makes having an extra WR be a moot point

Yeah I don't think WR is that pressing of a need. We have Dez and Williams on the outside with Beasley, Witten, and Escobar to play inside in the slot/on the line. I see a need for depth, but not for a guy that is going to get significant playing time unless there is an injury. Drafting a guy in the 5th seems a lot more likely to me, 4th at the highest.

2 WRs and a RB in each mock? and only 1 defensive lineman in the 1st mock? It is obvious you have WR infatuation. taking one in each mock 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

The good thing is we don't have to take any of those 3 mocks.

I have no respect for any draft (including our own real one) that doesn't address dline with both of the first 2 picks. I understand BPA but for our situation we have no need that outweighs our need to address our biggest need by far... dline.

I agree with the op entirely, this team will take a receiver.

I don't like any of them.

A WR in the 3rd or later would be fine.

I agree this draft class is loaded at WR and I could easily see getting a number 3, maybe a 2 in the 3rd or 4th round.

If one of the top 3 (Watkins, Evans or Lee) were to fall, then I could see taking a WR earlier. I don't really believe in Benjamine as much as some do. If that happened, then you would seriously have to consider the value there but other then that, I'd probably be inclined to wait till later in the draft as well.

The Cowboys have expressed interest in Robert Meachem and Nate Burleson. I would be surprised if we drafted a WR.
