I know the announcers said it is the first time it has happend under the current 8 division(4 teams per division) format. I am pretty sure the old AFC west had it happen a couple of times since 1981.

I think this shows more how the NFC East is a tough division. Any one of the NFC East teams (and maybe even the Skins) could have won the NFC West.
