Must lose to Wash of course.

Cle win vs Pitt would move us up.
SD win vs Den would move us up.

the third way is to surpass SD in the SOS race.

SD sos record currently is 126-114 we currently are 127-113

Assuming SD loses to Den and We lose to wash

then their sos record would be 127-114 and ours would be 128-113

Due to common opponents in both schedules both are guaranteed to go 6-6 in the final week in those games.

So we are at 133-120 for them and 134 -119 for us.

The 4 games that would decide it are Jax at Houston, Mia at NE, Sea at Ari, and GB hosting Minny.

In order for us to end up with the worse sos and move up to no 3

Jax would have to win at Hou, Mia would have to win at NE, Ariz would have to beat Sea and Minny would have to beat GB. Each of them. UGHHH!

This route seems to be almost impossible. Have to hope for Cle to upset PItt who is fighting for a playoff spot or SD to upset Den who is fighting for higher seeding.

It looks like the best we could hope for is no 4 barring a miracle and if we beat Wash then we could move as high as 8.

I still find it extremely odd that in a year where the division is historically bad the Cowboys strength of schedule is so high. I realize that's only 6 of 16 games but you still wouldn't think it would work out that way.

Carolina on our schedule killed us with their 14 wins.
