3rd and inches!

When we had 3rd and inches we had a chance to be assertive and make a play....We bring Barber in and everyone thinks he is likely to get the ball and we just give him the ball on a dive play up the middle.

When you play close to the vest you lose games and you lose heartbreakers....

We had a chance right there to take the game by the throat and instead we play conservative...not to lose.

If we do a play action on that play to Barber....Romo has someone open or at least he has the chance to look for someone and if they are not open he can throw it away and then we kick the field goal.

I know ROmo botched the field goal snap but at that time in the game I though we missed a golden opportunity to take control....that' what makes me mad....every year it's the same type of thing...we play conservative and lose games like this.

We need an offensive coordinator!

Oh please, that play was hardly the determining factor. Barber should have been able to make the yard.

I agree with you unlike CCF. If they get a 1st and hopefully a TD the game is probably over. IF IF IF

That was the perfect place for a play action pass. Or run a QB sneak, but everyone on Seattle's D knew it was going to Barber.

this is Parcells way...play close and win with the field goal...this was the defining moment of the season and Parcells plays for the field goal and turns the ball back over to a unit that has been the achilles heel of the team the last four weeks...playing not to lose...

Problem is that Barber is usually money right there. OL stunk it up.

That said, I don't get why the sneak isn't in the playbook.

Won't matter next season as BP will be gone.

You run the play action if you want a big play.

You run the QB sneak with 6" or less if you want the first down...every time.
Romo would have had it easily as Gurode pushed forward and no one was between him and Rivera. Even Seattle ran most of their 4th down plays outside because it's not that hard to stuff it inside...if you are going to run Barber up the middle, then do it from the usual pro set...teams are less likely to sell out because they don't want to get burned by the pass...when you have 3 TE's and everyone blocking...they can sell out.

No, as they said during the game, Barber was the NFL's worst at converting 3rd and short.

Ding, ding, ding...

With no two or three wide sets, it either has to be PA or a run.

And we're too predictable for anything but a run.

Eerybody and I mean EVERYBODY knew who was getting the ball...should have called play-action pass. I had a feeling that he wouldn't get it.

The announcers mentioned he was like 10 of 20 on 3rd and 1's or something similar. I believe they said it was the worse % for a RB, at 50%.

I blame the OL and the play calling.

Don't believe so myself.

I'd rather have Barber anyday on 3rd and 1 then JJ for instance.

LOL, doesn't matter what you believe. He's 10 for 20, according to NBC. 10 for 21 now, I guess.

Barber was money there, now it's a given what the play is and easy for defenses to stop. They need a play with Barber at FB and Jones at HB, that way they can either Dive with Barber, Dive with Jones, or fake the dive to Barber and then toss outside to Jones. Or they can even try plays that have actual wide receivers in them so the defense has to worry about more than one thing.

Barber hasn't been money the last two games though....and that is why I would have chose to play action at that point.

Norv Turner's slant pass to Harper in the Niners first championship game of the nineties was the kind of call that was just the opposite of this conservative crap.

That's why I think we need an offensive coordinator. We need be aggressive.

Rivera got his hat handed to him on that play. As usual. He wiffed and fell down. Columbo was left chasing the guy. I'm just happy Rivera didn't try and hold himself up by grabbing him.

Rivera gets manhandled at the worst times....Against Detroit he got thrown like a rag-doll as his man got a sack.

Another guard please!

Jones went 2-for-2 on third-and-1 this season.
