John Murphy's take: A hard-nosed, throw-back style blocker that will do whatever it takes to battle the guy lined up in front of him. He has the potential to start anywhere along the offensive line. Some evaluators believe he could be an above-average center if given the time to learn and develop at the position. He was able to handle quicker edge rushers for most of the season, and did so again during the Senior Bowl practices. He flashes a nasty streak, but he will get too tall off the snap and fails to re-adjust if beaten to the outside off the ball. He has long arms, but will drop his hands when blocking on the move. He is a well-prepared lineman that has the chance to play early in his career, which will get him drafted early.

I would have preferred that we stay at #53 and take C Ryan Kalil (Carolina took him at #59) as we have no depth at the position and Kalil can also play OG.

Oh well.
