4 Rookies starting

I can’t remember the last time the Cowboys started the season with 4 rookie starters and those are some critical positions. It’s a testament to the scouting department working along with the coaches and of course ultimately the GM.

There will be some growing pains. I’m not predicting a Cowboys loss, but if they do it’s not the end of the world although many here will call for Jerry to tank after the first 3 and out. So be patient early in the season. It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.

Maybe it's a testament to poor roster management and the result of overpaid underperforming players at other positions

Cowboys contracts for as much as people cry about them aren’t bad. Very lucky to have D Law, Dak, Diggs and Martin on the deals they have.

Contracts for sure have been a problem with this team. Dead money. The team has no choice but to go for youth when Lamb, Dak, Parsons are gonna get paid.

Hopefully, we show more of a pass rush during the regular season than we did with our backups in preseason because Carson will get tested. Corner is one of the toughest positions to play in the NFL, especially for a rookie.

Four rookies starting game #1 is a Cowboys record. They started three rookies on opening day three times in the past.

The most obvious performance will be Caelon Carson's. It would take film analysis to evaluate the others, minus an obvious sack total by the Browns defense.

All four rookies will be picked on, for sure. However, CB's action is mostly isolated.

Maybe Maliek and Brown weren’t starters week 1 though? I don’t remember

All 4 were starters/ getting lots of snaps at some point though.

I’m looking forward to seeing what dese rooks do. Rooks bring youthful hunger. Of course it’s at the expense of experience, which means you have to have a balance if youth and vets.

Our roster is not as good as previous years. However, if we get a bit lucky and don't get any major injuries to the team we can at least be contenders.
