James Varney of the New Orleans Times-Picayune Former NFL cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones did work out for NFL teams Friday afternoon, holding a 25-30 minute outdoor session at Hahnville High School outside of New Orleans, his trainer, Duke Rousse, said.
The workout, which involved a 40-yard dash and positional drills but did not include the sort of jumping and weightlifting elements that are common in performances for scouts was a success, according to Rousse.
"He looked great," Rousse said. "They just wanted to see his footwork and the defensive back drills."
Considerable confusion surrounded the location and timing of Jones' workout. When his camp first informed the media about it the location was said to be Tulane University, which held its Pro Day for NFL scouts and coaches Friday. Jones would work out there after the Green Wave players had finished, and that arrangement was reported in several outlets over the following weeks and on the front page of the sports section in Friday's Times-Picayune. At no time did anyone in Jones' camp request a correction or inform reporters that the site had been changed.
In addition to the workout, which Rousse said included a 4.4 40 time by Jones, five NFL teams interviewed Jones at Rousse's New Orleans facility. He declined to identify the teams in question.
