I believe Holley is the best on the show. He can play special teams and he's a good wide receiver. From his apperance, he looks like Larry Fitzgerald. Holley is my choice to make it and I would like to see how he turns out in a Cowboy uniform.

Preston McGann got screwed, he couldn't have played any better than he did, but he is white and obviously Irvin isn't going to keep a white receiver.

McGann's got the same problem as Todd Lowber, just too darn raw. He was also timid to go over the middle, think how scared he would get in an nfl game.

Holley's a man among boys out there. His 40 time isn't real impressive, but he doesn't seem to have any trouble running by people in kick return drills. I think his biggest problem is that he's made it look too easy to this point in time. That and his 99-cent store extensions. He's not Fitzgerald, but he may be able to do a fair Boldin impersonation.

He's the one guy who looks like he might not just make it to camp, but still be on the team at the end of the preseason. BTW, the Cowboys aren't exactly overflowing with proven WRs. Holley is the guy.

Anyone else think Gambles "there are 31 other teams, I KNOW i'll make one" comment was silly?

He has no shot, not even as a camp body. He opens his hips way to easily. The few times he DOES cover his man, he has him wrapped up completely (as do all the db's)

I thought this article was interesting for those keeping track of the show.

http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/1529736.html

"It definitely had its dog days," said Holley, 25, who finished his career at UNC in 2006. "It was cool, though, and I had a good time."

Holley is sworn to secrecy about the outcome of the show but did offer a hint to how he did. "I'm in every episode," Holley said. "I can tell you that."

Yeah, I think Gambles just didn't want that pipe dream to die so he made that comment, even though his chances of landing a spot on any of those other teams is None & NONE. :lmao:

McGann deserved another shot. Mike cut him unfairly the first time too.

Agreed...the only thing negative they said about him is they didn't think he would go over the middle to catch passes.

Preston deserved a shot to prove himself. he outplayed everyone on the field. Dont know what Mike was thinking there.

I have watched a few episodes and enjoy it but in honesty who ever makes it to Cowboy training camp is still going to be an extreme long shot. I'm not dissing these guys only being honest. They have a dream and they are chasing it and I respect that but I'm not expecting any of them to make it if given the chance.

He showed more in that one game than Jones has shown....period.

Andrews , washington and gamble were absolutely horrible the entire show.

The db's would get flagged every play, I don't think i've seen a single clip of one on ones, or games where they weren't mauling the WR the entire route.

I agree! I dont see how he lets McGann go home with Washington and Gamble there. The guy gets cut week 1, comes back and owns all of them and is gone again. At least give him a shot.

Oh well, none of these guys have a chance in heck at making the roster.

Agreed.

I think the only thing they can hope for is to get a few plays in preseason (if they even make it that far) and maybe another team signs them to their practice team.

Even that is a stretch.

But stranger things have happened.

I agree. Only way I can see one of these guys making it would be the way Bill Bates made it through special teams. These guys are not complete unknowns to the scouts in the NFL they know who they are and their short comings. Only way to overcome it is by showing themselves as Special teams demons

Early on in the show, Irvin made it very clear that the winner would absolutely must-be a contributor on special teams if they make the final roster. I don't see how that has changed. If one of these guys can emerge as that then I can see him making the final cut. And if not, then we have a guy for the practice squad, who we know will play his heart out to eventually make the team - and in the meantime give the starters a good effort as an oppnent to prepare them for games. Even if the guy never makes the roster and is a lifelong practice-squad guy, then even that's not so bad. So I do see some good merit to the show, in terms of churning the bottom of the roster.
