I would prefer the run, but they seemed to get what they wanted. It was a great defensive play.

at some point you gotta call your best run play, ask your lineman to man up and kick the crap out of guy in front of you. if you want a chance to win lets get this first down. lets not get cute with your back up QB and call a roll out. man up and beat the guy in front of you. unfortunately our offensive coordinator doesnt believe in this philosophy nor does our head coach have the balls to challenge his players.

thought it was a good call. Certainly wasn't predictable. The eagle player just made great play. Sometimes you just need to hand it to other team for making good play. I thought Garrett showed some stones finally.

i had no problem with going for it. its just the call and getting cute is what i had a problem with . a microcosm of the entire offensive season, pass pass pass pass pass

I have no problem with the play call. It was there. The DL simply made a great play. Play of the game. I have a bigger problem with us abandoning the run early in that drive.

Play was not there. Even had the ball not been batted, the LB was in perfect position to make the stop. Even if the pass had been complete, it probably would have been stopped short.

The problem is really more about who we are. We don't want to be a running team. We don't believe in it and because of that, we fail to see where running the ball can help us. We want to be a passing team and we almost elect to forgo the run to the point of actually hurting ourselves.

This is a problem throughout the organization IMO.

and our oline has been the best part of our offense the second half of the season. at some point you put faith on them with your backup QB in and ask them to get you one more yard.

I don't agree here Ren. Three situations where I can recall a 3rd and 2. On two occasions, we elected to throw and did not pick up the 1st down. On one occasions, we ran the ball and we were successful. This is indicative of a much larger problem and I don't think it's just one play. I think we can look at the season, in it's entirety and find examples of this same thing.

I didn't like the plays called and didn't like the 3rd down call before the 4th down play.

I didn't like the 4th and one or the 2 point conversion play call. But I think the biggest problem was the time it took to decide. They should've known before the third down that if they didn't get they should go for it and hurry to the line. Orton had worked the hard count earlier, but he didn't have time to try it again.

I think a QB draw on the two point conversion would've really caught them off guard and would've worked. The throw to Dez has to be almost perfect for it to work and on the low throw he can't use his size to fight for it.

And the dez throw is a play they use all the time.

Yeah the same guy that batted the 4th and one, read the two point conversion and nearly batted that one as well. And the CB wasn't fooled at all and was right there to break it up.

I agree but the first down was there if it wasn't tipped.

Not really. In fact, even if the ball isn't tipped, the LB has a shot at breaking up the pass and he most certainly makes the stop short of the 1st down, even if the catch is made. That was just a poor play call IMO.

I'm more inclined to trust my 1st string RB than my 2nd string QB with the season on the line.
