5 Mind Blowing Stats!

While Prescott is resetting the market for quarterbacks, here are five impressive stats Prescott has accomplished in his career that helped him land his massive contract.

1. Third player with 100+ TD passes and 20+ rush TD in first five seasons
Prescott joined Cam Newton and Jeff Garcia as the only players in NFL history to accomplish this feat. Prescott has thrown for 106 touchdown passes while rushing for 24 touchdowns in just 69 games. Newton threw for 117 touchdowns and rushed for 43 in 78 games while Garcia threw for 113 touchdowns and rushed for 71 in 73 games (the numbers for both quarterbacks through their first five seasons).

Prescott and Daunte Culpepper are the only quarterbacks to have 100+ touchdown passes and 20+ rush touchdowns through their first 69 career games (Culpepper played six seasons before accomplishing the feat).

2. Tied for second-most game-winning drives in first four seasons
Prescott had 14 game-winning drives in his first four seasons, tied with Russell Wilson for the second-most in the NFL since 1970 (AFL-NFL merger). Only Matt Ryan (16) has more game-winning drives in his first four seasons than Prescott and Wilson.

Prescott's 15 game-winning drives are the fifth-most in the NFL since 2016 (his rookie season). Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford, and Derek Carr are tied for the most with 18, while Wilson has 16.

3. Tied for most 100+ passer rating games in first four seasons
Prescott and Russell Wilson had 32 games with a 100+ passer rating after their first four seasons in the league, tied for the most by a quarterback in NFL history. Both are significantly ahead of Dan Marino, Ben Roethlisberger, and Joe Flacco -- all of whom had 25 after four years.

Prescott has 34 career games with a 100+ passer rating through his first 69 games, trailing only Aaron Rodgers (42) and Tony Romo (37) for the most in league history.

4. Cowboys are 31-3 when Prescott has a 100+ passer rating
Prescott finishing with a 100+ passer rating nearly makes the Cowboys unbeatable. Dallas is an astonishing 31-3 when Prescott finishes with a 100+ passer rating in his career, as the .912 win percentage is tied for the second-highest (with Russell Wilson) through a player's first 69 games reaching a 100+ passer rating in league history.

Len Dawson had 32 games with a 100+ passer rating through his first 69 games, going 30-2 in those games (.933 win percentage).

5. Sixth-highest touchdown-to-interception ratio in NFL history
Prescott has a 2.65 touchdown-to-interception ratio in his career, the sixth-highest in NFL history among quarterbacks who qualify (1,500 pass attempts). Only Patrick Mahomes (4.75), Aaron Rodgers (4.58), Russell Wilson (3,27), Tom Brady (3.04), and Deshaun Watson (2.89) are ahead of Prescott.

Prescott is one of five quarterbacks to record 40 or fewer interceptions on at least 1,500 pass attempts (2,293 attempts, 40 interceptions), joining Colin Kaepernick, Brian Hoyer, Deshaun Watson, and Patrick Mahomes.
Great Dak hater trigger post!

Give it up for GM Jerry Jones. He drafted Dak, he gave Dak one of the best OLs in the history of the NFL, gave him a top RB, gave him a top TE, gave him weapons at WR, gave him a great mentor in Romo, gave him top coaches to teach him, gave him a great facility, and gave him the opportunity to play and did not meddle and micromanage and demand Romo play when healthy.

Dak and all these glorious stats would be nowhere without GM Jerry Jones. Now of course, that same GM is the reason Dak does not have 4 rings by now, right?

Now, did Dak do all of this in spite of meddling GM Jerry or thanks to Jerry? Dak could never get stats like this if the teams were as bad as the Jerry Haters claim.

The number of comeback wins and game-winning drives is good but, if I remember correctly, some were against teams the Cowboys had absolutely no reason to be behind in the first place. Same with Romo. Slow starts, turnovers, poor concentration, bonehead plays and audibles, etc.

Dak is a pretty good QB. You can win with him. Anybody who knows anything about football can see that.

The pieces on offense are there. If everyone can stay healthy, the offense is as good as anybody.

It's all about the defense. Question marks everywhere. This is the unit that has to get it's stuff together to contend. With decent specia teams of course.

Fix the defense and this team might actually do something.

But I'm skeptical because this team a a serious culture problem, starting with the owner and his kids.

Because they cant dispute the facts. Dak's stats are indisputable.

I can make a big case for the run game the first few years, and amari after that making dak what he is.

there was a year and a half where dak did not elevate the offense, and as soon as amari gets here, he takes off as one of the best qb's in the league

Interesting...are you suggesting that Dak isn't the sole reason for the Cowboys lack of postseason success during his time? Is it possible that winning games involves more than just QB play? Could defense, special teams, and coaching actually matter?

Good post Roy.

Dak also led the league last season. At the point that he was injured, the Cowboys were 300 yards of offense ahead of the 2nd place team.

Dak was on pace for over 6000 passing yards for the season (Payton Manning's record is 5477).

Critics will claim that is was due to garbage time yards but how many QB on teams with losing records led the league in passing?

You forgot a few important stats:

Playoff wins - 1
NFC championship appearances - 0
Super Bowl appearances - 0

Do you remember what happened before Wentz, Goff, and Mahommes all got paid? Thats right, they actually accomplished something more important than personal stat padding.
You forget those are TEAM stats, not a QB stats.

Silly rabbit, trix are for kids. :muttley:

Why would it be ‘all about the defense?’ Dak $40M, Cooper $20M, Elliott $15M, Tyron $12M, Collins $12M, Martin $15M, and Jarwin $5M. How is it not on these 7 players to carry the team? $120M on these 7 players and fans need to hold them accountable and stop scapegoating the defense.

The Chiefs didn’t blame the defense for losing the SB. They lost because the offense failed. The Chiefs will only go as far as Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, and offensive company will take them.

I was getting kinda worried. I hadn't seen a dak love thread in 24 hours. The only thing that will make this thread complete is for Rockport to come in and call everybody a hater and that other dak groupie/s to come in and throw out personnel attacks on the detractors.
Your wish is my command...

GO FOLLOW ANOTHER TEAM!

Why is it about the defense?

Because they can't stop Mother Tereas's flag football team, that's why.

But this thread is about propping up Dak and his useless stats. Yeah for Dak, he has all these stats and nothing to show for it but an inflated paycheck. The team is really benefitting from Mr. Stats Prescott.

By the way, why is only Dak getting all this praise for his personal stats? Did you forget that someone has to catch the ball on the other end? No love for the tight ends and receivers? They have really had to work hard to pull in all those overthrown and off target passes.

Stat #5 is a good one!

Stat #4 however, might go against the narrative that says Dallas still loses a lot when Dak plays well.
31-3 when he had a 100 QB rating tells a very different story.

Imagine his stats if the TEAM played at the same level. Super Bowls and Championships are won by TEAMS, in a TEAM game, aren’t they?

Why didn't you ever say the same about your beloved Romo?

Agenda much?
