Imagine his stats if the TEAM played at the same level. Super Bowls and Championships are won by TEAMS, in a TEAM game, aren’t they?

If the team played better we wouldnt be playing from behind all the time and facing prevent D constantly late in games, so Daks current soft stats are not sustainable.

I never said anything good or bad about Romo.... I was on record as a fence sitter in regards to him. I was even on record saying it was better to leave Dak in the starting role in 2016 once Romo was healthy enough to return.

But then the rest of the NFL figured out Dak's game and 29-27 followed

Well, unfortunately neither of us can prove the other wrong with the old DC.com site only a faded memory. I very clearly stated that it was a bad idea to let Romo return and disrupt the momentum the team had under Dak. But like I said, I can't prove I'm right and you can't prove I'm wrong.

Maybe you're confused about all the garbage I spewed out about Garrett. I absolutely hated that mo fo. Still do.

The 5 mind blowing stats I would like to see.

1. Top 5 defense from a 30th + tanking the year before
2. Top 5 STs from one of the worst the previous year.
3. Top offense with a record least amount pf turnovers.
4. 1st undefeated team in the new 17 RS game format.
5. !st head coach to win a Superbowl with 2 separate teams.

1. Fwiw, Defense was 24th last year (but 28 in scoring) But yes, please. Need to get way better
2. STs ranked 11th overall, but yes, they did have holes in the return game.
3. I like the odds of a top 3-5 offense!

Because they can't stop Mother Tereas's flag football team, that's why.

If the offense put up 40-burgers like they should, then what does defense matter? Do you see any team, including the mighty WFT defense, holding Dak and company under 40 points this year? Name one defense that can stop Dak.

Dak is the man and has weapons galore and an awesome OL. So, why are you looking at the defense? Don't you trust Dak and Elliott and Cooper to score? Are they there to score points or sell tickets?

The only reason for Dak and company to not lay a 40-burger on a team is if the defense is holding the opponent down and the offense can just milk the clock the last one or two quarters.

I don't think you have much confidence in Dak and company serving 40-burgers, do you?

The main narrative I use with Dak is just watching him play.

Im not the one who plays the numbers game. That’s the Dak Pom Pom boys. You can just watch him and see a slightly above average player.

Ah, the old eye test, I see.

I am not 100% sold on Dak, but my eye test tells me he is way more than slightly above average. Not elite, but could he get there, we will see. But he needs a surrounding team, such as Wilson needed / needs. Such as most QB's need actually. Even the "elite" QB's need somewhat of a good team. Or just get lucky such as Eli did.

I went into last year to give him that, to draw more of a conclusion as too is he the QB or not, but injured, that now moves to this season.
I am a lot more pro than con though.

I can make a big case for the run game the first few years, and amari after that making dak what he is.

there was a year and a half where dak did not elevate the offense, and as soon as amari gets here, he takes off as one of the best qb's in the league

You can make a big case? Dak has never lead the team to the playoffs without Zeke winning the rushing title that year.

Dak also led the league last season. At the point that he was injured, the Cowboys were 300 yards of offense ahead of the 2nd place team.

Dak was on pace for over 6000 passing yards for the season (Payton Manning's record is 5477).

Critics will claim that is was due to garbage time yards but how many QB on teams with losing records led the league in passing?

Dak was also on pace to lead the NFL in combined INTS and fumbles last year. You can't leave that out.

Championships used to be the standard, now a select group are just happy as long as they can talk about whether their QB is top 10 or not.

42-27 overall. Sure cherry pick and remove a season.

Remove Tony Romo's 13-3, 11-5, 12-3 seasons and he was 42-38, he was 78-49 overall

Troy Aikman was not all that great if you remove the SB runs. Just remove 3 of his best seasons he was 94-71 overall, but remove 13-3, 11-3, 12-4 he was 58-51.
He had a great surrounding team and defenses as well that helped all those playoffs and SB's This is not to take anything away from Troy, he was the real deal.
AND he had great coaching. Something Tony and Dak did not have.

All I am saying it you just can't remove a season to try to make a point. Rather you feel the player was figured out or not. A lot more in play there.

You need defense because winning games 41-38 is not sustainable.
