I think the TE we drafted is going to take Hanna's spot - we may look to flip him for a conditional 7th. Hanna is a decent blocker but he never developed at all as a receiver. The kid projects as a better blocker.

Oh, didn't notice him, probably because it's a long shot he makes the team

As of now, with him having been unable to go during OTAs, you'd have to think he's on thin ice. If he is limited when camp rolls around, we'll likely just injury settle him and move on.

Notable exceptions:

Ryan Williams - probably thinking that his health will get him cut. Because that's not the plan.
Geoff Swaim - They want another big blocking tight end.
Chris Whaley - He beats out Bishop, I'd bet.

Notable inclusions:

Chaz Green - I think he gets PUP'd.
Danny McCray - Keeping him means the special teams are in disarray.
Lucky Whitehead - Don't sleep on the Farmer kid.

The most encouraging thing is, just look at how many quality players are about to get cut. That's a sign of major progress.

Seriously? Jack Crawford, but not Ryan Russell? I always assumed J. Crawford was a body they brought in last season because we didn't have anyone else. I guess he's actually decent?

They really like Crawford. We'll see.

If Russell flashes in preseason, no way he gets cut. They'll find a place. But he may be just a guy.

I don't know. I don't trust a guy with no eyebrows. Especially when he's a Brit.

From a Broaddus article earlier in the year (http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...wford-showed-potential-injuries-sidelined-him):

Where He Fits: I feel like you could play him at any spot along this defensive line as a backup and you would feel good about it. Can see him as one of those players that we aren't talking about much now but there is a plan for him with the staff.

I suppose I can see that. Didn't realize how versatile he was.

That's a pretty good guess on the 53 I think.

From what we've heard regarding the offseason and minicamp, Ben Gardner's boat has had a terrific year in the weight room and looks primed to claim a spot provided he shows up in preseason games. The coaches felt Jack Crawford played his best football the last 2 weeks he was healthy including a big game in London. That wouldn't surprise me either. Ken Bishop started and played well in Lambeau in a playoff game, so Chris Whaley would have to show them something to try and unseat him.

I'd like to see Ryan Russell squeeze on the roster because he was a mid/late round pick, but the Cowboys have cut 5th round players after 1 training camp under Garrett, see Josh Thomas and Danny Coale.

Much deeper team this year.

The list excludes a few possibilities as well as a really big one in Hardy.

If I erased "Weeden" and wrote "The Original #17" instead, would it really change Archer's prediction very much?

Who's the odd man out when Hardy can play? Or Ro McClain? Don't need three QB's, IMO...Keep Ryan Williams.

Depending on health and performance, it could be Kyle Wilber or Ro McClain.
