There's lot's of Manziel talk lately, with him now moving all over the 1st round board.
For example, Prisco now has him out of the 1st round, while others have him top 5 or 10.

If you were up for drafting him at all, what is the highest you would go?

I gave 6 scenarios in a poll and tried to spread them out over the 1st round, but left two other options as well.
Pick one

So many talking about drafting Manziel, so it should be interesting to see how this falls out.

What I don't get is that about 30 people viewed but only a couple had the nads to vote so far.

Looks like I left off the button that shows who voted where.
Maybe a Mod can turn it on for me?

I selected to take him at 16 if he's still there. If our QB situation was more settled, I would trade down and hopefully fleece a team that really wants him. But, right now Romo is an unknown and the draft will be long over before we find out if he can take a hit, Orton is in his last contract year and the meme about his wanting to retire (the Cowboys said it had actually never came up) was out there unopposed for a long time, and Weeden is our 3rd QB.

I love the idea of drafting Manziel. But only if the opportunity presents itself to us.

So I clicked stay put.

Well, I look at it this way .... say the Cowboys should take a young qb this year or next. I'm not sure that's how they feel, but that's what I would be looking at.

Do you think you can get to the top of the draft next year for Winston (can he come out?) or Hundley or Mariotta? Which one is the best prospect? For which one would you have to surrender the most value to get in a trade, compared to this year's crop? And how do you weigh that against the talent gained?

Winston will almost certainly be a No. 1 pick. Your odds of getting him are extremely slim. Assume Bortles is going No. 1 this year. So of the group of JFB, Hundley, Mariotta, Carr, and Bridgewater, which do you like? and which would cost least? Perhaps a better question is which one gives you the best potential value versus the cost?

If I couldn't get Winston, I would say Hundley and JFB would be my top targets. if JFB falls out of the top 5, The Cowboys should start looking at trading up for him at 6 or 7. If he gets to 10, which I'm starting to wonder, definitely trade up. That probably would depend on what the Vikings do at 8. Zimmer didn't like yesterday's hoopla.

No guarantee Winston will be a no 1 pick or even a 1st rd pick.

I voted trade up to 10, not a fan of Winston either...Did he impress anyone in his Bowl game? His throwing motion seems very weird to me, somewhat like Vince Young where he pushes the ball instead of throwing it. Will admit that is the only game that I saw him in.

I picked "Not at all"...if people have read any of my posts, I believe that the QB controversy alone would cause a rift in this team that will set them back years...if he doesn't start for 2 or more years, then we have wasted a 1st round pick during the cheapest years of his time on the team....no thank you....

If we traded back and still could draft Manziel it would be too good to pass up and Jerry would more less be forced to pull the trigger. Trading up is not even a remote possibility and I would still rather go D at 16.
