610 WIP in Philly claims the league is trying to help the Cowboys

I am listening to 610 WIP in Philadelphia and they claim that the NFL moved the game to 4:15 EST to help the Cowboys get into the Playoffs.

The only evidence they have is that the game didn't need to be moved .

Cowlishaw suggested the same thing, but Dalla-Philly is one of the biggest games of the day. They only had two games scheduled for late kickoffs, are people so stupid to think they wouldn't move it to show nationally on a double header?

If the league wanted Dallas in the playoffs, we wouldn't see week after week of painfully biased officiating like we do.

It was gonna be the ONLY early game between two teams fighting for the playoffs.

Imagine the outcry from Cowboys fans if the game hadn't been moved.

I have a hard time believing the NFL would not get more attention during the week leading up to the WC games with the Cowboys missing the playoffs then with them in.

Between the guaranteed blow up if the Cowboys lose and the media throwing a party I would think it would be a non-stop circus for a week

I don't see how moving the game up 3 hours will benefit either team. Now if the league moved the game from Philly to a dome stadium because of the weather then Philly fans would have something to complain about. :laugh2:

Yeah we'd actually get some holding calls the other way from time to time, sheesh. When our D-Linemen get spun around completely, it's probably because someone's holding!!

I think they just need a reason to complain about something. Oh well, we'll see if it helps or not but either way GO DALLAS. If Dallas doesn't show then it won't matter what time they played they would lose. :starspin

Of course that is the reason. They wanted late games with playoff implications. Besides Dallas and Philly you have Miami/NYJ and Sunday Night Den/SD

It's for ratings. All Cowboys games are big games. Lead stories on pre-game shows, always mentioned in "Insider reports"...

i dont fully disagree, but i dont think its a cowboy thing I think it is a nfc east thing. The giants (even tho they beat carolina) are faltering. If they lose, there is really no established superstars or big market teams left, so yes I do believe they want the cowboys in the playoffs, and if the shoe was on the other foot they would want the eagles or Commanders in as well.

I don't really think it matters. Whether the Eagles have a chance at the playoffs or not, you can bet they are going to do everything in their power to make sure Dallas doesn't go either. It is a hated division rival. They aren't just going to lay down and say, "Go ahead Dallas, go to the playoffs and enjoy".

You can bet the Eagles wants to beat Dallas no matter what the circumstances are.
