6th Round pick Sam Young

He may not be the most athletic linemen coming out of the draft this year, but we're not projecting him to play LT. He may need a few years to develop, but I think the physical tools are there.

Wow. Trouble handling COLLEGE speed rushers?
Not liking what I'm seeing, other than his size.

Well, some of those guys were Anthony Spencer, LaMar Woodley, Brandon Graham, Derrick Morgan, all the USC DE's over the years, etc. So not exactly chopped liver.

Spencer in particular ate ND's lunch in his last season at Purdue. If I recall correctly, he was lining up all over the line that game though, so I wouldn't blame it all on Young. Also, we obviously all know how talented Spencer is ;)

Playing on the right side you will not deal with many speed rushers.

Whatabout 3-4 LB's?
I'd consider them speed rushers.

Denv just picked the ND lineman I wanted

As maybe the second biggest ND homer on the board (we all know who is first) I have not liked any ND O lineman for years. I was amazed that Ryan Harris became as good as he has.

This guy is soft. Footwork. Rob Petitti Part Deux without the toughness.

Sounds tough to me.

I'm just saying most speed rusher will be lined up on the left which is why LT are premium. As I pointed out I like some other OL player but I would not write this kid off. Hell we have an UDFA QB and WR we have Ratliff drafted in the 7th what any of these kids do in the NFL is unknown to blow him off with no chance is beyond foolish there is enough evidence out there that says different when it comes to these young players

Very good comparison!

no push, plays high, limited flexibility, catches the defender, poor footwork, struggles to get wide.

Smart, has a passion for the game, plays hurt

Like I said, good kid, just lacks the athletic ability to make it at the next level.
