I love Sean Lee and you might be right
But the pass rush is making a bigger difference than anybody else on the field and I have to give Rod credit for being more aggressive
That said the defensive backs are starting to jell and understand their responsibility

as is the offensive line.
coming together as a team just in the nick of time

Not to hijack the thread, but if the young secondary comes together, watch out. The much maligned Heath made one of the plays of the game. Byron Jones had it tough, but he'll be OK. The arrow is pointing up for the defense. Now if we get good news tomorrow about Zeke and the injuries aren't too serious, we could be running on all cylinders for the stretch run.

We 're 7-1 if Sean Lee doesn't miss any games.
He is that good.
He makes SO much of a difference.

Honestly may have gone to the SB in 2014 if they had him that year.

I would not rule out this group from challenging for it this year:flagwave:
Going to be a real scramble down the stretch.

I hope that the entire defense's performance is a sign that things are headed in the right direction and a sign of good things to come.

Totally agree. As for Byron Jones - I have to evoke one of my favorite lines from Pulp Fiction: “Ok? Nah man....I’m pretty bleepin’ far from OK.”

He is that good.

I was very pleased with our defensive performance yesterday. I didn't want to give too much credit to Lee because the two toughest offenses we faced were when he was out. However, this performance against a quality offense was impressive, and Lee was at the center of that.

Note: I'm not saying that I didn't know Lee was a great player, only that how much his absence affected the team wasn't as clear as the numbers because of who we had faced.

One player cant be the difference between a high school level defense and one that is actually competent. If it is, we have big problems, because Lee is an injury waiting to happen.

Special players are hard to replace. Lee is a special player. Hitch plays a big role in that D also and when Both are out, yes the D is in trouble. If I am not mistaken, we are undefeated when both are on the field this year.

DL is really coming together. Taco is getting better also. The sky's the limit for this D.

Completely agree with the OP, Sean Lee makes a huge difference. Romo was spot on yesterday when he said that and finished his comments by saying that Sean Lee knows NFL offenses better than some QBs in the league.

Anthony Hitchens is no slouch either.
Hitch & Lee play well together. Lots of trust there so It’s lije they don’t have to worry about the other guy not doing his job.

Let’s them fully focus on their own assignments

A muffed punt and a pick 6 that went in and out of Twills hands.
we'd be 7-1 if those 2 plays didn't happen.

Team success isn't about one player.

The Cowboys have played with purpose and intensity the last 3, something they didn't do to start the season w Sean Lee

You guys just love to praise your favorites

Romo was spot on when he said early in the game the Cowboys would counter the Chiefs offensive speed with zone coverage. Worked to perfection. I wonder how many teams go right to zone and scrap the man coverage the rest of the season.
