It will be interesting on how he develops.

I remember when Andre "The Giant" tried out for the Commanders.

If he can slim down to about 340 or even 330.......and have a decent vertical jump......can you say the perfect FG defender for up the gut, especially on long FGs.

Also, if he is agile and fluid enough, he could be an outstanding goalline TE option. Jump Ball anyone?

He probably has a better chance as an OT.

im not saying he wont be an OT in the pros. What I am saying is with his size, if he has any athleticism whatsoever, he could be used for special situations, such as FG blocking and goal line TE.

I don't think he can be an overly effective OL, unless he is a Shaq-like athlete. He will probably deal with knee issues all the time. He will most likely be lumbering. Now, if he can drop 40-60 lbs over the span of 2 years, while maintaining and building his muscle mass, especially his legs and core, then I feel he can be athletic and strong enough to deal with not only the big bullish DEs and DTs, but also the smaller, faster DEs and OLBs. Plus, it will improve his ability to block FGs and catch TDs as a situational TE.

I have a feeling that is why he isnt playing basketball. If he was athletic, or could slim down, why wouldn't a 7fter be player BB? IF he plays football, he is going to have too many knee injuries with that size.

He needs to have someone after him about getting into better shape. If that kid could slim down some and get himself a lot more agile and healthy that way he might be able to really do something.

Look at the poor kid in the still shot at 0:32. Just getting swallowed up.

No offers from colleges.

One would have to think that there is something more there for him not to get an offer from some schools by now. With that size alone.

Some might not even remember the movie...but for some reason this kid reminds me of the Tall Fat kid in the goldie hawn football movie Wild Cats.

If he did that, wouldn't you think, he would be playing basketball?

haven't seen enough of him, but he would have 2 loose a massive amount of weight to play bball (100lbs probably), and 7fters in bball have to have some level of explosiveness.... this aint ya daddy's nba.....

Yea, there's a reason 7 footers don't play football. My guess he's very limited athletically.

Maybe not lose 100 pounds, but he would have to completely transform his body. Way too much fat, not nearly enogh muscle to be an effective NBA big.

Interesting, did not know that....

It was 1974 I believe.

I'm not sure if it was a publicity stunt or not. Vince McMahon Sr. really guided Andre's career from the early 70's on after his initial work in Canada.
