anybody watching the news today saw the video of a huge pileup about 10 miles from my house today. My son called me first thing this morning and asked me if I was aware of the wrecks. I immediately hung up the phone and called my daughter because she was to be coming thru that area about the time it happened. She happened to be running late and missed getting into it.

Fog and Smoke contributed to what some drivers said was like "driving with a blanket over your head." Several people died. My son in law was the first paramedic on the scene.

I spoke with him this evening and he said it was the worse thing he has ever had to cover. He received the call at 4:56 and was on the scene at 5:13. He said he could not even see anything but just went to where he heard people screaming. The first person he came up on was on fire and stuck in their car. He said he did all he could but could not get the guy out the car. My son in law held the mans hand and asked him if he wanted him to pray with him. The man nodded his head yes, and about a minute later while Matt prayed with him, the man died. He said this happened to two other people as well he tried to help.

While he was tending to people toward the front of the accident he kept hearing cars and trucks slam into other cars toward the rear and start exploding. For a while they would not let the ambulances leave because it was too dangerous.

At 12 tonight, the interstate is still closed. They are expecting more fog in the next couple of days.

You just never know......
