.@MoClaiborne (shoulder) unlikely to play on Sat for #Cowboys at #Dolphins says Garrett @1053thefan

Jason Garrett confirms neck/spine inj probably ends 1 yr career of LB Devonte Holloman. Tough for a young man to see a dream end. #wellwishs

'He's going to go forward and live a happy, healthy life.' - Garrett on Holloman #Cowboys @1053thefan

Rowan Kavner ‏@KavnerDC now
Horribly sad for Holloman. It was his second neck injury. Garrett confident Holloman will still be able to live a "happy and healthy life"

Don't know much about DaQuan Bowers other than he was in trouble with the law last year. Anybody have any thoughts on Bowers as a player?

The Claiborne injury is starting to become SOP for the Cowboys FO. I'm not even sure which injury is keeping him out at this point -- the leg or the shoulder. When we originally were told about the Claiborne injury it was like "No big deal -- he is day to day -- he would have gone back in the game if it were a regular season game".... etc ETC ETC.

Thank god Mo doesn't need any practice....

He's not out. He's practiced the last 2 days.

Bowers was a beast in college and then before the draft it came out he has an illness.

08/21/14 - DE Da'Quan Bowers, the oft-injured defensive lineman, is nursing a groin strain that's now hurting his chances of making the team. "I think every day you don't practice you're hurting your chances," coach Lovie Smith said. "We've seen enough to like Da'Quan a lot. But all the reps that he's not getting, someone else is getting them. The best way to beat your competition sometimes is just to stay on the field. You can't get Wally Pipped. Da'Quan is trying to get back. Again, I think he has a future in the league, whether it be as a defensive end outside or more of a third-down rush guy inside."

He's a power type DE or a Nickel DT at 6-4, 288 with a 4.92 forty. They Cowboys already have some of those. The Cowboy really need a speed type Weak-Side DE.

Having said that, the Cowboys are not so stacked with talent that they shouldn't consider him. He's not a vested veteran which means that his salary wouldn't be guaranteed if he's on the roster for game 1.

Pre-draft comment:

While reports that Bowers might need microfracture surgery on his right knee have been disputed, he already needed surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus and was unable to work out at the combine in February.

I think Smith is trying to motivate Bowers he isn't going anywhere.

Yes. Daquan Bowers is awesome, when he is healthy. Which isn't very often. Maybe we sign and stash ala Marc Columbo.

I am tired of BW Webb.

We'd all drop to the floor if JG or Jerry spoke such heretical language as Lovie said there about Bowers.

LOL.

I think it's a great idea -- Claiborne for Bowers -- straight up.

;)

No thank you. Mo has produced more than Bowers, bad trade - especially if Bowers is in danger of getting cut anyway.
