88 scores.
Who said lead the league in catches.

I am referring to making the catches he needs to make.

Eh. He's made some really big catches this year. Like Posterizing Sherman on 3rd and 5 during the final drive. Or that beauty going up over Joseph in OT to stop the bleeding and set up the GW field goal.

The offense doesn't run through Bryant, but he bails us out quite a bit.

Dez Bryant is an extremely effective, but very limited, wide receiver. He has to be spoon fed the game because he doesn't understand the cerebral side of his position.

That's why the Cowboys are reluctant to pay him too much.

Dez is not gonna led league in catches with this offense but we always want him to do more.

He has the capabilities to do it. Its there for him. There have been some games where Dez has been taken out of the game due to not being able to get off the line or run crisp routes. He fixes some of those things....he can become a more consistent threat than he already is.

Somewhat. There are times he simply isn't the focal point on the game plan. with the offensive line and running game he doesn't have to be the main option.

There are 6-8 dominant, beastly WRs in the league...and a few more (ex. Beckham, Evans) on their way.
But Dez is OUR beast, so it'd be nice to keep him.

Yes. Again. I love Dez. But.... Two things:

1. Like you said he can be taken out of games and...
2. If we are being completely honest, we have all said at least 2-3 times this year, "Dez you need to make that catch"

I have a feeling his reads and route options have been simplified to the point of ineffectiveness. I think his route running leaves a LOT to be desired. However, he is a lethal red zone weapon.

I am referring specifically to a few throws unto end zone. I think we lost the game where he dropped a "should catch" pass

Oh yeah, I'm sure there were one or two. I know I responded to your post, but it wasn't really directed at you specifically. I do think he is not nearly as consistently productive as he should be, given his physical talent and I suspect some of the reasons are what I stated above (and I think you alluded to earlier). However, that physical dominance serves him (and us) really well in the red zone, where it's more about beating your guy mano y mano than play calling or schemes. You cannot put a price on that type of physical dominance. The Pats have it with Gronk. The Lions have it with Megatron. A few others. But there are not many teams that have truly "go-to" red zone options like Dez. That's worth a LOT because its one thing to generate a lot of yards between the 20s. But if you're not scoring in the red zone, you're not winning.

In a league where outscoring your opponents is valued over stopping your opponents from scoring, Dez only trails D. Thomas of Denver in TD's the last 2 years for WR's I believe.
