He has a few sacks and takes double teams on the reg. We still have 7 games left

We still should wait. His game isn't worth 9m a year. Jack Crawford has similar numbers.

Not everything is "he stinks or he is great". I think he is pretty good but not near that contract.

DTs didn't a ton of money last year. Melton, Raji, Alualu, Sheard, Fairley, Paea, Knighton, Williams didn't break the bank.

Every thread is the same

players suck coaches suck and FO sucks... I saw all this coming... shouldn't have signed hardy, shouldn't have resigned Crawford, should've signed muarry.... blah blah blah...

It's funny how ppl flip flop their opinion, 5-8 months after the fact...

If Romo hadn't gotten hurt, we would have been at worst 6-3 with a lead in the nfc East. No one would have been talking about how 'awful' this contract is (even though with the low guaranteed money, it's barely a 2 season extension), or how awful the off season was (really, an off season where we gained Hardy, Collins and all our draft picks, many who show lots of potential, resigning McClain for cheap and locking up Dez is awful? Were any of you fans in 2009? This off season was one of the best since the 90s, hindsight is 20/20), or how big of a distraction Hardy and Dez are or how much we apparently miss Murray, even though most Eagles fans probably hate his current contract to what he's offering.

I'm as pissed as the next guy, but let's keep some perspective here.

Claiming we overpaid for what TCrawford has provided is perspective. When people keep talking about how soon we can walk away before the extension even kicks in as one of the pluses that should give you a hint.

That should tell us why we aren't a good team without Romo . When Guys like Crawford and Carr are paid like elite players you're in trouble. Romo covers up for so much of this teams crap . I still can't believe we paid this man that money

Someone doesn't know what the top paid DT make. Suh, Watt, and the actual elite make literally twice what Crawford makes.

Crawford isn't even the worst starter on the line. The Golden Cock still starts last time I checked.

Truth is, it was 95%+ unanimous, that we had the best off season in 20+ years... best DL in FA, 3 rookies with 1st round grades, Randle was a ? But he had a decent following... ppl at first were mad about muarry but most got over it... now it's just

Cassel sux. McFadden had 2 good games but is slow. Dez is becoming a cancer. Twill can't catch. Witten is.. well everyone loves him lol overrated OL. Hardy is cancer (probably is) Crawford is overpaid. Carr can't tackle or cover. Claiborne is a bust. McClain is lazy and slow. Lee needs to retire.

What's it worth then? He does have a few sacks playing on the inside and is on pace for over 5 sacks for the season. If he is indeed playing hurt then it stands to reason healthy he would do better. Have you looked at the DT market?

I know you were around for the discussions when he was signed and I know you know the comparison is guys like Paea and Odrick who signed similar deals. With Suh and Watt as the benchmark he makes a bit over half of what the top guys make.

People seem to want NFL players to make $4m like this is 2004 and the TV deal never happened. I don't get it. That particular conventional wisdom needs to move on.

I am a bit salty now and was a bit rosy back when he signed in September. I liked the signing and tried to sell it as a bargain.

I initially thought 6/45m with 20m would be fair. He went with 5/45m with 25m guaranteed, so it wasn't a ton more. But it was for enough that he better be a Pro Bowl player. Right now he isn't. If he is hurt that is even more of a reason why you wait. A torn rotator cuff can linger and slow down the ability to weight train.

He just needs to pick it up. I am tired of guys signing for big deals in Dallas and not even living up to their pre-contract levels. Most of them end up regressing.

He's been dealing with a rotator cuff injury that needs surgery, but he's holding off till off season. This injury is painful and limits most of the power from that arm. He's doing his best, and I'm sure his best is still to come.

Looked like he had a shoulder harness on yesterday, I'm guessing he's hurt.

Still, healthy enough to play, healthy enough to produce.
They said on the radio broadcast that he needs shoulder surgery but is trying to put it off till the season is done

I think Crawford wants it bad but his injury is affecting his play. I give him a pass. As I learned he has a shoulder injury.

This was a terrible offseason.

Our off season haul of FA's and draft picks looked pretty impressive to me. On the flip side we didn't overpay and of those UFA's who got unreasonable offers from other teams.

Good teams, good players, and good coaches don't lose 7 games in a row.............even Jerry Jones said its inexcusable to lose 7 games straight.

There are 8 pro bowl DT in the league. He is making half of what the top guys make. I think how you tier your salaries is pretty unreasonable. If you are going a step down from Suh/Watt then you are looking at still $3-4m more. It's funny too because with the range of numbers involved he gets a sack more and we likely aren't even having this conversation. Dude is on pace for 5.9 sacks not the goose egg like Hayden.

Crawford is a rich man but he isn't the one getting blown up on middle runs like a friggin train. That would be Hayden and a lot of LB/S who don't know how to fill, set an edge, or how to adjust their angles for the speed of their opponent. I know why Wilber still gets playing time. Doesn't make it sit any better. Patmon, Wilcox, Wilson, and Gregory look lost. Church, Hitchens, McClain, and very much so Wilber look slow.

Think that was a shot at JG?

I honestly don't know Big Dog...........I was watching the videos over on DC.com (Break, Talking Cowboys, Garrett's presser, and Jerrys interview after the game) and Jerry just looked totally defeated talking with the media. He said that with the way the rules are set up in the NFL, there is basically no excuse for this team to lose 7 games straight.

I don't really know specifically what he is referring to, maybe the salary cap and free agency? I don't know. As far as Garrett goes, I don't think he is going to get fired or anything, but I think he is starting to lose some of his shine. In other words, Jerry is not going to fire him but I also think Jerry is starting to realize that he is not the next Tom Landry either.

Bruce Arians won Coach of the Year last year and I think Jerry was thinking something similar might happen this year when he made the comment right after Romo got hurt that if this team could just tread water while Romo was out, what that would mean for Garrett.

I think for the first time, Jerry is sincerely disappointed with Garrett.......not that he is going to fire him or anything, but just disappointed. Kinda like when you brought home your report card to your parents and you made several Cs instead of As. They didn't kick you out of the house or ground you, but just gave you that disappointed look and you knew what they were thinking even if they didn't say a word.

That is what I think just happened when Garrett lost all 7 games without Romo.

He has 7 games to prove otherwise... FYI he's recorded 3 sacks so he's on pace for 8 or 9 which is still good. We need to upgrade the position beside him!!!!
