I've been playing and watching football for 40 years and TCrawford hasn't impressed me. He is a good player but that is all I have seen. People love to downplay stats when it doesn't fit their narrative. He doesn't have the sacks, the TFL, the tackles in general to warrant his deal.

I want him to shine and we need him to shine but it just hasn't happened yet. I am not even against the deal. I just want a Cowboy to earn his payday fora change. When players off of the scrap heap like Irving and JCrawford are matching or bettering your numbers it is telling.

They pay second contracts on expected production based off of what you've done on your first contract. We knew at the outset of that deal what we were paying for. The only thing that's changed is he's been hobbled a bit. Which is obviously why two other young promising players are splitting time with him.

From his rookie year, though, coaches were excited about his ability to play the run and the work he was doing to develop his pass rush in the 3-4. Then he got injured Kiffin's year and came back last year and displaced Melton to lock down the 3-tech job. 3 sacks and 29 pressures inside on a team with zero outside threat is good production.

Getting a young hard working 3 tech for ~$9M is not a bad deal, though. I expected bigger sack numbers from both him and Lawrence, too, but I understand that there are limits to what you're going to do with the rotator cuff injury. That's not a small thing to be playing through.

I remember almost everyone on this board singing the praises of the Cowboys front office for giving Tyrone Crawford that contract. The key word is "giving" because Crawford certainly hasn't earned it.

Must have been another board you are talking about.
