What is this fascination with Walter? He had THREE touchdown passes last year with Randy Moss split out wide......THREE. Say that again...THREE. Johnson played for a terrible team last year as well and still managed to do better than that.

Put Johnson w/ the Raiders and his stats would probably be as bad. Like I said before, I've nothing against Johnson, but he's just about done, no more gas in the tank left. Glad you feel comfortable w/ him if Romo were to go down BUT I don't. I'd like to see an upgrade AND yes, Walter is an upgrade at this point of time in their respective careers.....

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Andrew Walter "already has been told he will be released" once JaMarcus Russell's roster exemption expires.

I liked him in college and wouldn't mind him being here to develop, but who do we release to make room? We can't put him on the PS.

Naw, I'm actually open to Walter coming here; good call by you and ABQ. I'm not at all comfortable w/ Johnson as our back-up. The Johnson 2-3 years ago, yes; the Johnson now? heck no. Walter looks like he could be our "long-term", vet back-up solution. Now if we could find ourselves another youngin' to groom like the team did w/ Romo, but that's for next year's draft I suppose.....

Even better, he's young w/ game experience. Hope we snatch him up when he's released or I wouldn't even mind up giving up a 6th or 7th rounder to ensure us getting him as others here have proposed.

I don't believe so, Johnson would not be big loss to me BUT if the staff really wanted to bring in Walter & keep Johnson, we can always cut Oglesby or Justin Smith. Don't we have players on the PS to replace them if necessary?
