Boldin
PacMan
McFadden

Now that would be a big bang to end an offseason that seemed to be lacking when it started.

This off season could end up pretty nice. You trade the 28th and Ayodele for Boldin.(Even if the Skins wanted him and were crazy enough to give up their first and Betts they wouldn't be able to pay him what he is going to want after Javon Walker, Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald's new deals and T.O. is expected to cash in to.) Then ya Trade the 5th for Pacman draft Jordy Nelson in the 3rd Justin King in the 4th trade the 5th for Pacman and package Carpenter, Spears and 2 1st rounders to move up and grab McFadden at 3rd or 4th overall. Or you plan to draft Jones and if McFadden Slides down to 7th you make the trade with the Pats.
Next year if T.O. is asking for some crazy number you franchise him and make a trade then ya sign Roy Williams to fill T.O.'s void.

There are alot of options at CB and WR. We need to look at the best RB in the draft and try to get a hold of him. I mean What if McFadden turns out to be AP? That would open up some huge holes for Boldin, T.O. and Witten. If teams decide to key up on them then McFadden can burn them in the run and on dump offs and screens.

That's a big "what-if" right there. What if he's the next Reggie Bush, which he bears more resemblence to?

1. Boldin
2. Pacman
3. Ricky
4. McFadden
5. King
6. Nelson
for
1. 3 1st
2. Ayodele
3. Fassano
4. Barber

Lots of hope, not much fact in this. Boldin is going to be great... Pacman could change his ways, but I don't think the safe money is there. Ricky could stay clean, but again, you are putting a lot into a scenario that isn't expected to work out. McFadden will be a rookie, if Ricky gets hit for weed again, you've got a guy who may be great, but may not. And King and Nelson, nothing is guaranteed and it's a reach to think they'll end up contributing a whole lot this year.

So let's say Ricky gets busted (would you bet against it), Pacman does too (again, is that something you're willing to bet against), McFadden turns out to not light the world on fire. Two years down the line, you let TO go, have no running back, you'll probably have let Henry and maybe Newman get away and are banking on Nelson and King to play #1 at their spots. A lot of risk but also a lot of reward. It may pay out, but I think you need to balance the risk with some safer bets. Diversify your portfolio as it were.

I love Boldin and was a big fan of his coming out of College even after he ran that 4.7

But...

The guy has been banged up pretty well and seems like he is injury prone.

At some point those injuries will catch up you would think.

I'd love to have him but I would only give them a 2nd round pick.

Maybe 2 2nd round picks if that would seal it.

Might happen.
Shouldn't happen.
Won't happen.

Well we know that the Eagles refuse to trade their 1st round pick and the Giants have 30th overall so if we offer the 28th we would be the front runners. If the Giants then offer a player we could throw Ayodele in the mix. Then next year we sign Roy Williams and let T.O. take the Vet min or walk.
YEah, that would be real smart. T.O. has done nothing but produce for us since he came on board and you want to throw him out w/ the trash just like that. Has he shown any sign of slowing down? Like I said, real smart.....

as long as TO can produce i think we should always try to give him a fair deal. the year by year plans may not have a lot of security for TO, but he's getting fair dollar today and so far, he's been much more than many of us could have hoped for.

yes he will need to be replaced soon, but hopefully it's done with the same respect he's shown so far.

I wouldn't mind having Boldin, at all, for the right price. Pretty much everything else I've seen mentioned here I'm not too crazy about or just plain wouldn't like at all.

Get Boldin from the Cards via a trade for the 28th pick then draft DRC at 22, I don't believe Jerry Jones will bring in another lightening bolt like Pacman... I believe Dallas could get a nice compliment to Barber like Kevin Smith or Chris Johnson in the 2nd round.

agreed. this is a plan that's based in reality, could happen, and addresses needs. well, except DRC will be gone at 22 likely but cason could be there.

Boldin is a great WR, but he has consistenly had knee and foot issues I believe. Three years of 12,14 and 10 games played and he blew out a knee in college didn't he .

I think a 1st is a high price to pay for that risk.

same can be said for roy williams. same can be said for any WR we draft.

it's all a risk. it just has to be a calculated one all around.

Settling for Boldin instead of a Roy Williams is like youse settling for Vanilla Ice when You could have had the Fat Boyz.
I don't like this settling for the less-expensive variety when you can have blue chippers like Roy Williams, Asante Samuels etc. We lost out on Samuels, but I sure hope we go after Roy.

Wanna give a shout out to the Fat Boyz reference. Good to see the Fat Boyz still holdin it down. Gotta love the Fat Boyz.
