Week 1 Vs. Arizona: 42 points. 2 kick returns for TD, one 21 yd. TD drive.

Week 2 Vs. NO (on the road  ): 27 pts. 10 yd TD drive, a 41 yd TD drive, and SIX Saint TOs.

Week 3 Vs. SD: 23 points. They got killed, and one 34 yd. TD drive.

Week 4 Vs. STL: 44 points. STL had 5 TOs, 1 TD drive of 23 yds. NY actually had a few long drives in this game, so they did move the ball pretty well. Still, 5 TOs.

To me it's pretty clear what happened in each game. The 2 kick returns are really what makes the score so high in the AZ game. Without those it's merely 28-19. They also had a very short TD drive in there as well. The offense wasn't all world.

Against NO, the Saints just flat out played like crap, and even fumbled the opening kickoff at their own 10 yd line. Easy score for the Giants, add in another short drive, and all those TOs, with that many chances of course you're gonna get some points.

Against SD, there really isn't much to say. They got spanked pretty bad, and some of the points they did get were on a pretty short drive.

Against STL, they moved the ball well, and sustained a few long drives and scored well. But STL's defense sucks, and they also coughed the ball up 5 times. Another very short drive resulting in a TD.

For the most part it wasn't the offense putting up a ton of points and moving the ball up and down the field. It was a lot of TO's in 2 games (the Giants had no advantage in either the AZ, or SD game) resulting in some short drives, and some good special team plays, added in to playing some pretty sloppy teams with poor defense. They obviously will not stay at this scoring level for long, and starting tomorrow their average will drop like a rock.

Good point. I am feeling better about the giant game after several of these 'break down' threads. It does seem like they indeed have been more lucky then good.

BTW. I love your signature pic. I just dont know where you got the TO twin donkey, poor donkey, having to look like TO for your whole life. OMG, I cant help but LOA when I look at that, may make that my wall paper, but then I would have to take Tom Landry down. Nah, cant do that. But that is still funny as hell.

That is one hilarious sig. I'm gonna send that pic to my Eagles friend.

I appreciate all of the hard work that went into this analysis.

But it really just shows that the Giants have pretty good special teams, force quite a few turnovers and can make you pay for them.

So, we have to do well on special teams, hold onto the rock and play some good defense to beat them.

Thanks for this analysis. I kept wondering how people have credited the Lil Giants as being the highest scoring team in the NFL this year, and this really puts it in perspective. I hope we take them seriously, and destroy them.

Strong.
