Eh, I will never believe he was all that enamored with JF. I think he was just being polite to him and his oil biz family with all his talk. The blue label, ok.ha

Wow, there are 1,000 articles you can google that say he was completely smitten with Manziel.

I suggest you read the SI article.

I have, and I don't believe them. I think it was just Jerry talk. As mentioned, Romo said the next day he wasn't in the plans. I.ll believe he's more likely to say that stuff to the media than lying to Tony. If he wanted him that bad, he signs everyone's paycheck in the war room, he would have taken him.

Did you read the SI article? The guy spent months on end with Jerry. Jerry was not happy with the Martin pick when it happened.

Because a guy whose had to rehab, a hand injury, two back surgeries, cracked ribs, two broken collar bones , and who knows what else needs to learn how to rehab from a guy with only one major injury. Mmkay.

Took him 3 months to get the surgery. Enjoy the excuses about "rust" throughout training camp.

I mean you say that....probably because we had Hardy... But if you take the name off his Jersey would you have been impressed?

No I wouldn't have been but the pass rush is for sure worse. Theres not even a starting DE plus Crawford and dlaw are coming off Injuries

Might be better if we're ever ahead in a game this year. Teams didn't have to hardly throw against Dallas last year.

Might be but they still need a year or 2 to make this defense what it needs to be.

Why? Thornton was an excellent addition. Mayowa, we don't know. Lawrence and Crawford are good players, as are Lee, Hitchens, Scandrick, McClain (if there), Church, and who knows who else arrives. And there is a draft in two weeks.

This defense most needs rest and a threat from the offense. You know, like in 2014.

This defense isn't near as good as it was in 2014. No rookies are going to come in and make much of an impact. Cedric should help against the run though. There's no playmakers on defense except lee. Crawford and dlaws injuries are questions. There's no depth on the DL or at LB.

He's already throwing months before camp and by all accounts will be ready. What makes you think anything is delayed?

The entire process was delayed by 3 months due to his (and whoever was involved) indecisiveness about the surgery. I mean wouldn't you feel better if you got the news about him throwing in February instead of mid-April? Brady is practicing with his receivers right now.

Dr. Zordon, they needed to see how the bone healed bf making a determination on the type of surgery that was best. Both require healing time for the bone to strengthen bf operating.

Dlaw may be coming off injury but he's certainly going to start for us. Same with Crawford.

It's also hard to understate just how big an upgrade Thornton will be for us.

RDE I'd a concern but the guy each season we were counting on to fill that spot will both have missed the first 4 games due to suspension so that's a push.

Honestly people saying we are so much worse up front this coming year than last really aren't being genuinine. Then of course we haven't had an important even yet... It's called the draft.

Draft isn't as important as people make it out to be. In the sense that draft is for the future not right now.

Dallas lost its QB, best receiver, and best cornerback last year with a damn tough schedule. 4-12 was about right considering.

If you lose 3 players out of 53, that should not be an excuse to go 4-12

That is an indication that the overall depth on your team is very poor and the surrounding talent is not pulling their weight. Denver lost their starting QB for practically half the season and still won the SuperBowl..............We would have been 0-8 during that stretch if that was us.

My personal opinion on the 4-12 season is that it showed that the overall talent and coaching on this team is just not very good. Without Romo changing all the plays at the line, we could hardly even manage a first down. And the coaches did little to no adjusting to compensate for this. Cassel even said that when he first got to Dallas, he couldn't find any of the coaches that would stay after practice and help him learn the playbook. He said he basically had to learn it on his own when he went home at night.

Sorry, but that is on Garrett and his staff and the fact that the backups all went 1-11 is on Garrett as well..........injuries are part of the game, not excuses.

Stop dropping truth. It makes them look stupid. They hate that.
