the Dallas D has not allowed a WR or a RB to have a 100 yard game on them.

Is this true, someone just told me this.
Pretty impressive considering the fact that we've faced:

OBJ
Cruz
Shepard
D Jackson
Reed
Garcon
Vernon
Green
Lafell

(Though no notable backs or rushing attacks, so far)

I fully expect the defense to get better as it gels and we get OScan back, which would be a good thing since our competition is going to get much harder,,, the easy part of the schedule is over.

Remind me again how many points that 100 million dollar New York Giants defense has allowed...........

Here's the best one, though: League ranking in sacks? New York Giants sitting firmly at 32nd. JPP and Vernon are KILLING it!

:lmao2:

They only play well against us I guess!!

I like Scandrick but I will say the same about him as Romo, once they are back in the lineup they need to come in playing quality football. Brown has looked very good out there in place of Scandrick, and his play continues to improve game to game. Scandrick needs to earn his playing time

The addition of Lawrence to the D line made every player a step better...it was amazing watching the difference.

Anthony Brown has been incredible replacing Scandrick....not is he playing the pass, but he has made several big stops in the run game. Can't fathom how he was available so late and I don't think he had any baggage that caused him to drop.

Hopefully with Nzeocha and Scandrick about ready to play and we should get Irving back this defense can continue to get better. Rigfht now they are much better than that 2014 defense and the offense is playing at least as well.

A lot of people have been saying there is no way we can make a run this year because the defense isn't very good. I think people's minds are going to start changing.

I imagine that the coaches wouldn't have it any other way,,, they want to win too.

For a change we have competition for spots and I agree coaches have to love that. I have said before I have 53 pet cats so it is not a case of pulling against Scandrick it is a case of wanting the best players out there on game day. Thus far Brown has exceeded my expectation and would hope that once Scandrick returns to the lineup that he will have to play quality ball to keep it

Wow thats unreal. Pretty soon we wont be seeing all the posts about how miserable and pathetic the defense is.

I wouldn't mind that. If Lawrence can add some leadership to the DL, the offense continues to control the TOP, and the secondary continues to play well the defense could turn into a respectable unit. Who knows, Gregory might even stay straight and give them a boost at the end of the season.

Slowly the defense is becoming the story. Great hustle... Mo/Carr playing aggressive.. Controlling the ball on offense. limited turnovers putting them in a bad situation.

Best stat to me is 8th in points allowed.

Only other defensive stats I care about them improving are turnovers, 3rd down percentage and sacks. Extremely pleased with their ranking in points allowed.

Our play in the secondary has been phenomenal -- and they did it with very little pass rush help in the first four games. We saw just how well they played yesterday with some help from their friends on the line.

I'm actually excited to see how they do with Irving back in the fold. He is one of our better rushmen. Good to see you back and posting, holmes.

Claiborne coming of age is incredible. Its better than adding a top 5 rookie corner. We need to resign him ASAP. Jones is finally showing big stuff on the field in coverage and knocking down passes. Doing great at center field. And thomas has been a great surprise as a rookie. If we can get rid of Carr when Scandrick comes back this could be one a very good secondary.

I don't think it was Lawrence. Don't get me wrong, he looked good. But he was only in on 15 snaps, and the line was getting just as much pressure without him.

Claiborne, Jones, and Brown have been blankets this season. We're one ball-hawk away from one of the better secondaries in the league, if their play holds up.

That's the big one. We're 13th in points per drive (accounts for offense limiting how many drives the defense faces), which is an improvement over last year (17th), and we seem to be getting better with each game.

We're 8th in points allowed but 13th in points per drive, which adjusts for the offense limiting drives. So the offense is essentially accounting for the difference in ranking under these two metrics. You could make the argument that Zeke and Dak have done more to improve the defense than any two defensive players we could have selected in rounds 1 & 2 as they are helping to limit the opponents offensive possessions.
