Let me start by saying that I would not want TO on our team for reasons that have all been enumerated by many on this board and are too numerous to recount here. BUT

Take a step back and bear with me for a minute:

We all agree (myself included) that TO is a great NFL talent and possibly the best (or certainly a top 3-4) game changing receivers in the NFL. We also agree that he is a cancer when he does not get his due whether that 'due' is money or respect or recognition etc but we all also agree that he desperately wants to win . I put forth his effort to come back and play in the SB as evidence of all of the above. Also witness that even though we outsiders think and 'know' that TO is a bad guy and the essence of the 'me' guy and 'not a team player' and in short "responsible for all that is wrong with our world today" , a lot of his teammates (who know what happened a lot better than we do) want him back. So lets accept that maybe we dont know the whole story.

Lets forget for a second what happened between TO and the Beagles this year and set aside our 'feelings' about TO and and ask ourselves one simple question:

What would TO have done and where would the Beagles be had they renegotiated his contract as he asked?

Please dont give me the standard 'matter of principle' replies. Some of us may think that would have been unreasonable but I will say that what should have been done and whether TO 'deserved' another payday is a matter of opinion and perspective.

It may be that if the Beagles had given TO his contract he would have been a force and not a disruption and perhaps they would have been on top of the NFC on the way to a shot at a SB berth.

Lets take this one step further, is it possible that the Beagles are truly concerned that the Boys will really go after TO this off season and the tampering lawsuit against JJ is an effort to have the boys back off to ensure that we dont go after him. Whats worse than losing a player like TO? having to play him twice a year with a chip on his shoulder.

Just food for thought.

Cancer is something you NEVER want anywhere near.
And why would the Philthy's want to renegotiate with someone with a track record like TO? AAnd with rosenhaus as the agent? Their mistake was getting anywhere near that bum in the first place. All TO had to do was act semi-normal. Show that last year was not a fluke. And if he had done that, then he could have asked for a renegotiation and there would have been a huge amount of pressure on the birds to do just that- after two years of behaving himself and playing great. He could not control himself- he does not have the discipline.
