A disturbing Julius Jones quote

From an article: "I'd rather play on the road," Julius Jones said. "We come together well as a team on the road. It's kind of us against the world. Plus, there are too many distractions at home. Here, there are all types of things going on. People got family in, and they're wondering what they will be doing after the game."..."We play great on the road, so we are in a good position."

I agree that this team plays with more focus on the road, but nonetheless, the bolded part of Ju.Jones' quote above really bothers me because these players have been playing lately as if there isn't a game going on; mentally that seems to be the case.

I believe that stuff goes on with every team in today's NFL.

So I guess all the teams that play well at home are more focused and have better coaching.

Do you guys remember the "mental holiday " quote from Vanderjaqt.

Well, this team has been on a mental holiday since they were in good shape and had the remaining 4 0f 5 at home.

And, yes I really believe that!!!

Their families are probably all like "So....what's my role, in the gameday scenario? Do I bring chips? ice? buns? brats? I'd like it to be consistent so I can get into a rythm. Also, could you get me Carrie Underwoods autograph?"

Stupid families. Costing us W's.

Perhaps their just more experienced at handling the distractions, This biggest majority of this team has no experience in these situations.

It is probably some hottie causing all of the problems.

You can have a room full of guys with no problems, getting along just fine, but have a good looking woman walk in and watch things change.

Darn women.:p:

When a team is losing, everyone blames everything.

When we're winning at home, the same home game distractions would be there.

Winning cures everything.

You can coach all you want for a player to be focused, but ultimately it's up to the players to discipline themselves.

On the other hand, being that they are "professionals", being focused should be part of their personalities.

They sure seem focused when the fans are trying to get their attention, don't they?

I agree. Players are responsible for bring home film and studying the opponent. They should understand the adjustments that need to be made as the offensive players go in motion. So when I see a play like what took place in Philly where the LB thought the TE was going to stay in and block but instead took off on the pass rout and the LB failed to go with him, I blame that LB. The coaches can do only so much the players have to be able to recognize what is going on and what their responsibilities are on any given play.

Well, it's not like our crowd is much help. They've been a factor in maybe one game since ... forever.

Don't forget that we had games Christmas Day and NY Eve at home - so that amplifies the problem.

This is all a set up, people getting down on the cowboys and then the boys are going on a winning streak to the SB and people will be going crazy, the nfl and Jerry will be raking in money by the bushel. I just bought me a house in the median of the highway, real nice small grassy yard, but I have to leave going 60 mph. I think I'm suffering from amnesia and deja vu at the same time
