A few concerns about Lamb

Wait..I though the Dak detractors all say Dak isn’t accurate. Wouldn’t a large catch radius help a QB who isn’t accurate? I remember Gallup and Cooper making some nice catches that were not perfect....of course I also remember them dropping passes that were perfect..

Dez had a large catch radius.. It didn’t matter..

He needs to see a guy open.. That is why crafty route runners like Amari work better for Dak vs a guy who may have the corner in his back pocket while still making a play.

Back shoulder throws? Non existent..

Contested catches by our Wide outs? Rare thing to see.

Lamb’s after catc ability should be huge but I don’t know if his catch radius will even be a factor.

Deandre Hopkins posted a 4.57 40, 36 inch vertical, and 115 inch broad jump in 2013 at 6'1, 215.

Lamb posted a 4.50 40, 34.5 inch vertical, and a 124 inch broad jump at 6'2 200.

Hopkins has no problems with athleticism and neither does/will Lamb.

That’s my comparison for him.. He reminds me of Hopkins..

I wonder how well Hopkins and Dak would do together.

I get that alot of folks really wanted Chaisson but honestly i have been listening alot to Broaddus and Cavenaugh on the fan and there may be some red flags with his work ethic. Nothing that good coaching cant overcome but a pich similar to Taco

Now we have a better coach now so maybe he would have been ok here but they made absolutely the right pick there. The only way it would have possibly been the wrong pick is if they had to decide between lamb and Kinlaw and im not sure if it still wouldnt have been the right pick.

This opens up our #1 offense even more especially now that slow *** Witten is out of the picture. Lots of draft to handle corner

@CATCH17 I would love to see your evaluation of Emmitt Smith, or Jerry Rice or Moss one day after being drafted.

Not saying Lamb is HOF worthy.

I have concerns on Chase Young and Okudah and many others.

First off let me say that if Dallas didn’t pick Lamb or Chaisson then they failed with their pick.

I had Lamb as my best WR in the 1st round but not necessarily the best fit for Dallas.

When I watch Lamb he is an incredible open field runner and he can win 50/50 throws.

Here is some of my concerns:

1. He’s not that great of an athlete..

4.51 40 and 34 inch vertical point to a lack of explosiveness. When you watch him he just kind of floats. He doesn’t have that quick suddenness in his route or a lot of top end speed to separate at the top of routes

2. He played with 3 Heisman candidates in a conference that plays no defense on the best team. We constantly got to watch him play in a ton of space.

3. Dak... Dak tends to like the separation receivers and isn’t going to throw guys open or give his guy chances to make a play on the ball.

Dallas got the pick right.. I’m just not as sold as this being a total slam dunk simply because I’m not 100% sold on what he does translating to the pro’s and our QB’s strengths specifically.

1. Athletically he's very similar to Gallup whose solid but not exceptional.
2. He constantly gets open because he's got exceptional hand technique and good change of direction.
3. We saw him tear up LSU, Alabama, UCLA & Texas so it's not just beating up on weak opposition.
4. He gets separation and besides, Dak threw how many passes to Witten?

You’re never happy about anything the Cowboys do so no surprise your whining about the steal of the 1st round.

Awesome.....@ least I'm not the only person that thinks that this pick is gonna blow up in our faces.

Thought maybe sleeping on it would change my reaction....nope.....Hate it even more. We get lucky to have K'Lavon Chaisson OLB/DE LSU fall into our lap....and Jerry goes for the flair pick. Just insane. So much for McCarthy having any influence.

He was the 6th best player on our board.

LOL. You don't pass that up.

I have a lot of good evaluations over the years and some bad ones as well.

BTW, I did say Lamb was my #1 WR in this class. Just not the best fit for our team and some concerns I have with his athleticism.

I’m happy with the pick. It had to be him or Chaisson or else the 1st round would’ve been a failure.

If he doesn’t fit wouldn’t that make him the wrong pick

You also compared him to the best WR in the league in Hopkins. Hopkins wouldn’t be a fit for our team? Why because you don’t like the QB? Give it a rest already. We know you don’t believe in Dak. No need to post a thread about lamb to take more shots at the Dak. We get it.
