A few interview nuggets from Overshown

Well said guys. Availability is 99% of playing this game. Problem in today's game is we have players doing too much talking and not enough of doing their job well. It's empty talk until it's backed up on the field. First step is bring available.

In football terms, maybe. In terms of having some humanity and compassion, it means everything.
Great. When we get the "humanity and compassion" sub-forum, I'll be very supportive..........but until then, I'll just comment about the actual football related part of it.

He loves football and the Cowboys are lucky to have him. The haters crap on him because of his injuries not even giving him a chance.
Find one so single post where I've "crapped" on his skills level or personality as a human.....you wont find it.

As a matter of fact, I've showered him with praise when it comes to his performance and love of the game, when he actually plays.

The only thing that should be crapped on is your constant need to incorrectly calling out others to boost your own ego.

I'm hoping for Overshown's reps to be quite limited to allow him a reasonable chance for his injuries to heal as close to complete as possible. If that's not allowed, it'll simply be an irresponsible disservice.

I didn’t say you did now did I.

fools talk about hate too easily
It's a typical human condition...the ones that cry the MOST about things...are the ones doing it themselves.

Concerned about O's health = hate...is PURE HATE.

Hate for people, hate for your own life. A happy person wouldn't stoop so low.

Jesus had to remind people to cast the first stone if without sin. 2000 years later..."we" are still doing it.

(FYI: not terribly religious....I just know the quote and paraphrased it)

I understand your human compassion....but we also have to remember this *is* a job. A business.

I know I ebb and flow in my job...depending on things. And our small company is very sympathetic. But they do generally expect us to perform at a high level every day.

I like 0....he's a good dude, great athlete, good human being. I hope and pray he stays healthy and get's what he's surely earned. Good football career, happy life and generous financial reward.

Overshown is going to play -- that much is fully understood and respected for this dedication to his career. I still have my doubts about his being used to excess if his condition indicates him being hurt and impaired during the game. It's simply taking care of your player if he shows pain and a likelihood to be impaired in the current game taking place, as well as those in the future.

There's really nothing wrong with being cautious is what I'm saying. Showing concern for future games is fair to Overshown and everyone else, including the fans. I'm certainly sure he'll be available as much as humanly possible. I think Shotty will take notice of his health and make the right decision when the times comes during the coming game. I don't doubt O's guts to perform at all. He'll give his all.

My gosh, every fan wants each player to play hard and aggressively. But hoping for the best for each player shouldn't be discouraged and we certainly don't need a separate forum for such comments.

According to you, everybody on this site except you and a handful of other homers are " haters"

You're definition of a "hater" is anyone that is realistic and non-delusional about the current state of the team.

If you have any doubts, just look at your current thread thats going down in flames " Hope is eternal" ......people here have got you pegged as a serial instigator

Being. Lol

Certainly hope agent o stays safe and recovers fully from his injury.

But with that said his playing style and trying to play linebacker 25 lb lighter then he should be for the position is it difficult task to accomplish.

Agent o is a big safety kind of like John Lynch or Steve Atwater maybe they should play him like that and it could possibly extend his career.

TBH, I couldn’t care less if the ‘boys win or lose, they are dogmeat and going nowhere. They can begin making plans for Cabo at Zeke’s place if they wanna. But I am interested in seeing the new guys like QW, Wilson, Ravioli and O of course. See how they fit in for next season. Maybe some other young guys too.

I hope he doesn't play until he's 100% recovered from his injury and ready to play pro football.

My definition of a hater is you. One who does NOTHING but whine and complain about everything Cowboys all the time, in every thread. You know it’s true that’s why you constantly insult me.

I am rooting for O like crazy, love everything about the guy and we can certainly use him for so many reasons.

I just don't see how you can come back from a torn ACL, PCL and MCL in 11 months and play anywhere close to your normal self.

Next year seems more realistic.

I hope I am completely wrong and would love to eat crow on this one, just don't see it.
Returning this year probably sets him up to really return to the pre-injury trajectory next year. The mental aspect, the confidence in the healing, is normally the limiting factor early in a return. Doing so this year helps get past that mental barrier before next year.
