I’m having a mental lapse, what were Zeke’s mental lapses?

They also had Earl Thomas back then.
I recall THREE major one's that cost us that game, 1st stepping out of bounds off a sideline pass that was wide open to the end zone, 2nd a dropped pass that hit him in the hands that he dropped with nothing but green in front of him, 3rd was a fumble that killed a drive that would have put us on top....Zeke just wasn't having a good day in crapville Seattle.

Can I please get a loooooong run.

I’ve been saying “he’s due” for about two months.
Seahags can load the box all they want, Zeke is going to go OFF on these pukes. I'm sick of hearing how grand Wilson is and how he is that "clutch" no way the boys beat them blah blah blah... I'm siding with you here, been saying he is due....

What’s long? He has speed but he’s not a regular 50+ yard guy but he will rack up the 20+ yard runs. Generally it seems like safeties and corners are faster than him. His biggest plays seem to be screens when he has blockers in front of him because of his elite vision.

He’s ironically a lot like Emmitt in the sense that he rarely loses yards and can regularly turn no gain into 3-4 yards. He’s also a great all around back like Emmitt.

On the contrast, the guy on the Giants can be bottled up all game and break a 50 yard highlight play. Nobody pays much attention to the negative plays though that tend to stall drives and lose games. It’s hard to lose with backs that get positive yards every play like Zeke and Emmitt.

Zeke played poorly and had some horrible mental lapses. That's not a performance he's likely to repeat this time. Look for a focused and more determined effort from him Saturday.
not forgotten weve talked about it all week on other threads..

His long runs were back in the day when he had a full back blocking for him. Now he does the Leveon Bell thing of reading then picking a hole.

The only mental lapse was stepping out of bounds on the TD. When he fumbled, they were down 24-6....

The entire story of why they lost was the passing game. The passing game is much improved, and ET is gone.

He made mistakes, but still had 127 yds on 16 carries. To say he played poorly while averaging 7.9 ypc is a stretch. The mistakes were huge, no doubt, but he didn't play a bad game.

right, couldn't recall the score at that time, BUT take back the out of bounds, that's 7 added to the 6 = 13, add to that the dropped pass which I still say would have been really close to another score and that's another 7, add that to 13 = 20... then that fumble which would have put us in the red zone, no for sure thing that's 7, but at least 3 which then brings us to a total of 23 -24 and we are in the game....of course, that's IF I have all the mistakes lined up properly..:) I recall the game, just not every moment bad things happened there. But hey, i digress, we win this one in our house by 3.

I wouldn't put too much into the first game, both teams are vastly improved at this point. Like most NFL games today who gets the ball last may determine who wins, game winning drives in today's football are almost meaningless with parity in today's offensive slanted NFL game. What ever Defense plays best on Saturday should determine the game winner.

Him catching staying inbounds on that pass that Dak threw to him could have made a difference in the momentum of that game. But, I'll take him beasting out against Seattle to help us beat them in the playoffs. Over us beating them in week 3, but losing to them in the playoffs.

Was that the game he stepped out of bounds twice?
He stepped out of bounds because the pass was late
As soon as defender ran past him it should have been thrown
He was drifting out watching and waiting for the pass and got too close to the sideline
A quick pass would have been a big gain

WE NEED a game plan that features a passing attack to open it up for Zeke. Seattle will come out ready to stop him. We can run many RPO's to catch them off guard. Its not business as usual against these guys. If Linehan isn't creative, we can expect to lose.
