A glimmer of hope.

What a heart breaking lose yesterday. I’m as down as down can be, yet there is a glimmer of hope. A break in the clouds, as I see the light shinning through. When the season started I didn’t have any hope. I predicted a 9-7 season with Bledsoe at the helm. To be honest, I’ve expected a great deal more from Parcells. Yet, his teams have yet to bring a spark in any hopes I’ve had. His teams have been mediocre at best.

When Romo replaced Bledsoe I honestly didn’t believe we would suddenly become a playoff team. Not that we were with Drew behind center. What I did believe was that this year would be filled with growing pains. That the search for a real field general has finally found it way to the Dallas Cowboys. I didn’t expect to see what I’m witnessing now, a young promising QB.

Yes, the loss hurts. But this young unknown QB put us in a position to win. The game was ours, but a rare fluke play lost it for us. This kid has played like a seasoned pro so far. He’s a QB I can actually place my confidence in. A QB we can build a winning team around. It’s been years since I’ve seen quality QB play behind center.

My hope doesn’t stop with Romo. Our two RB are very impressive. MB and JJ have been running with fire burning in their souls. JJ’s quickness and MB’s bullish running style brings a 1, 2 punch to defenses. Our TE’s are developing well, it’s refreshing to see them used as weapons on our offense. Our WR’s are aged, yet they are still a formable duo.

Every team has weaknesses, the cowboys among them. The mental mistakes is unlike a Parcells team. But it is something that can be corrected. I expect to see improvement as the season progresses. This may not be our year, but I do see a brightness rising from the horizon.

Thank you. I began to think this was an anti-Cowboys forum from all the flaming of our own team members who were loved by those who hate them now.

Yes I find it easier knowing we will hopefully know by the end of the year if Romo is going to pay off OR if Jerry is finally going to stop bargain basement shopping and go for a QB high in the draft.

I think Jerry is at the point where he will actually do what it takes to move up in the draft to get a QB if he has to do so.

I am hoping that Romo pans out so we will not have to get that far, but one way or another we will find out after the season.

I think Romo did more than fine. He still obviously shows some signs of rookieness. Like that sack he gave him when he should have just throw the ball away. But those are natural mistakes that will be fixed in the run. I want to take this with measure and see how he keeps developing over the season.

Romo did not play the game like a rookie at all. I saw no signs of 'rookieness'.
Every QB is going to have several plays that he wishes he could take back.

This is what I would like to see. If Romo isn't the answer than it is time we seriously look for a true QB. Truthfully, even if Romo has an outstanding year, if a good QB falls to us in the draft, we should grab him.

Romo's play thus far has been exciting to watch. He has played surprisingly well. I'm actually beginning to see fire in the belly of this team.

ROMO imo, has saved us a draft pick for a QB.....WE can sign a good backup in FA, or develop Baker

Romo could end up saving more than just a draft pick ;)

Even if we do miss the playoffs, i think finding a franchise QB is more important.
