Well the eagles got him so I was gonna hate him stud or bust.
And besides somewhere up in philly there's a mouth breather wondering what to make of all this Ryan switzer noise coming out of big D

He's a good player, I just don't see him as a guy that's taking Philly to the next level.

He was a good pick and I Would love to have him on my team.

But I do not fear Derek Barnett like I would fear a Clowney or Mack.

Barnett's probably going to be a good player. Allen in WAS is probably going to be a good player. If we can beat the Eagles with Graham, Cox, etc., then we can beat them with Barnett too. And if not, then they deserve the wins. It's strength vs. strength, we've got the o-line, they've got the d-line.

Shirts and shorts...

He may very well be good but there isn't a first round pick that doesn't perform well in practice in their Tshirt and shorts

It's only OTAs but word up here in Philly is Derek Barnett is absolutely a stud.

I lit many a candle at church praying he would fall to us.

I've never heard of him so he couldn't be so great. :D

Edit: I just read his draft bio; T-Smith is going to have him for breakfast. ;)

Just read article from Phily.com May 31st. Nothing about him being a so called stud or unblockable. Quotes below are nothing out of the extraordinary for a 'stud'.

"How much he can contribute, how quickly he can be ready is up to him and coaches. It's our job to get him ready to be out there. But we're really excited about him."

"He's also been giving great effort in practice. We've pointed out his effort a couple times - chasing the ball and those kinds of things," Schwartz said. "For a rookie to do that kind of stuff has been pretty impressive so far."

Barnett said defensive line coach Chris Wilson - probably the most vocal Eagles position coach in OTAs, a man unafraid to deliver a pungent critique - "is very critical of me. I'm glad I've got a coach like that, because he's only going to make me get better."
