Damn! Jeff "Beast" Heath numbers are tough!
Yea they are... what's holding this guy back? He ain't go no brains or what?!? If that's the case I think Xavier Woods beats him out... everything I've heard says he's super smart and knows football like a coach.

Not much size, but good athleticism. Better be ready to help over the top against big receivers.

Heath was looking like it came together for him late last year. It doesn't always carry over but I'm hoping he keeps the Ed Reed impersonation up because the team will need it against the WRs they face this year.

I wouldn't say much is holding Heath back. The guy was never in our plans, but he stuck around for years and earned the coaches' trust. He was a UDFA the same year we draft the Matt Johnson at safety. He got thrown into the starting position as an undrafted rookie because of injuries and played pretty poorly. The next year we drafted Wilcox to be our safety, and now he's gone. The only one who stuck around through all this was the undrafted Jeff Heath.

You can clearly see what makes Woods successful as a S. He's got the good 3-cone with smarts and instincts.

What's interesting is I've seen his weight listed anywhere between 197 and 220.

What I find most interesting is that, for how much of a freak Byron Jones was considered, Chidobe's size and speed are very comparable (though he gets blown out when it comes to jumping). He was also rated slightly higher than Jones as a draft prospect despite going 60 overall where Jones went 27 overall. Shows how deep this DB class was. We were lucky to get Chidobe at 60. Guy's a 1st rounder in any other draft.

His rookie year he played like a rookie when he was conscripted to play, he was just hoping to make the team. The zoner's jumped him because he did not play like a veteran, he was the band-aid for the defense and got picked on regularly. He has gotten progressively better each year and learned lots after being thrown to the wolves that first season IMO. You will not pick on him anymore as the game seems to have slowed down for him. IMO

Not sure why they drafted White, especially looking at those numbers co,pare to others.
They could live with Leon McFadden. As they even seemed to like him some.
They could have drafted a LB at that point.
Bit not complaining,, just wondering why, when they already drafted 3 other DB's.
I think he will be on the PS.

Because White looks like a guy who is built for special teams.

His combine weight was 197. It's possible that he played at a heavier weight. Many players drop some weight in order to run their fastest for the combine.

I'd like to see them reconsider moving Byron back to corner and take advantage of his size to match up with the bigger WRs in our division. That plus Awuzie being best utilize down around the LOS and at diagnosing plays in front of him makes me think he may be better as a Safety.

LCB: Byron Jones (6-1, 200)
RCB: Anthony Brown (5-11, 195)
Nickel: Jourdan Lewis ( 5-10, 188)
SS: Chido Awuzie (6'0, 202)
FS: Xavier Woods (6'0, 198)

I really hope that's not why they drafted him. Can't make the team on ST's play alone. Well I guess one can, but we have other players that can or should do both, so that's what they keep telling us.

I really hope he shows what he can do. I have nothing against him, I was just saying they could have drafted a LB. and used McFadden. However, I think one of these 2 are the odd man out for the last DB spot.
